Hayley Williams postpones 'Petals for Armor' tour in UK, Europe and North America to 2021

Hayley Williams said the new North American dates will also be revealed 'soon'

Hayley Williams has joined the growing list of artists canceling tours and live shows during the coronavirus pandemic. On April 28, the Paramore frontwoman announced she is officially postponing her 2020 tour. The tour was scheduled to kick off in May in the UK and Europe with shows including stops at Electric Brixton, London and La Cigale, Paris, has now been postponed to 2021. The gigs are in support of her new solo album 'Petals for Armor'.

The album is was released as two separate EPs: 'Petals for Armor I' released in early February and 'Petals for Armor II' released on April 21. She released several singles from both EPs in 2020, her most recent being 'Dead Horse'

The 'Simmer' songstress shared a statement on Instagram, opening with, "Due to the continuing restrictions on travel and large gatherings as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the UK and Europe 'PETALS FOR ARMOR' tour dates currently scheduled for May, are being rescheduled for 2021."

The statement also states that "the North American 'Petals for Armor' dates will be rescheduled as well," adding that "more information on when the new dates will take place be will available soon."

The statement concludes, "Tickets for both the UK/Europe and North America tours will be honored at the rescheduled dates. However, should you have any other questions about your tickets, please reach out to your point of purchase."

On the post, she left the note, "Posting this tour postponement announcement to the feed. im very sorry we wont see each other in real life soon. eventually, though πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ (sic)."

Fans were understanding of her decision and supported her by saying "Such a bummer but it will be worth the wait!!!πŸ’–" and "It’ll all be amazing when it finally happens. Gotta keep positive and at least we have the new Petals music to hold us over and we will have plenty of time to learn the lyics for the songs!" 

During the coronavirus quarantine, Williams has also been keeping her fans happy by sharing cover performances of songs from artists Phoebe Bridgers and Tegan & Sara.
