'Grey's Anatomy' Season 17 Episode 8: Will Matthew die so April and Jackson can restart their love story?

Fans are convinced that Sarah Drew would return to the show only for a Japril plotline

Sarah Drew, who plays April Kepner on 'Grey's Anatomy' we're sure is extremely excited to be back on the show. But she's determined to play it cool, even if it's with tongue firmly in cheek, while Japril fans are delirious with excitement. In earlier interviews when asked about how she would have liked to see the Jackson Avery-April Kepner romance end up she said, "If it were up to me, they would have been the end game," she said. "That's if it were up to me, but, you know, it's not up to me."

Could Sarah's wish come true as she makes her comeback on 'Grey's Anatomy'? Well, fans are certainly hoping so.

Whipping the fans into a bit more of a frenzy, with a little behind-the-scenes Japril camaraderie, Sarah posted this on her Instagram page.

And it looks like Sarah's co-star Jesse Williams who plays Dr Jackson Avery couldn't resist joining in the fun as well, with this post on his Instagram page.

Sarah and Jesse have always been open about how great their relationship is off-screen and perhaps that is what has translated into so many fans rooting for them. Jesse in an earlier interview about Sarah said, "I am a fan [of Drew's] and she is absolutely one of the most special people I’ve worked with. We developed those storylines together with our incredible writers, so it’ll always hold a very real place in my heart and memories. We stay in contact. She is the sweetest."

Japril fever certainly is in the air but let's not forget that Sarah's exit at the end of Season 14 saw her married to Matthew (Justin Bruening). For hardcore Japril fans though that hardly seems a hurdle. In fact, some fans are going as far as saying, that Matthew's death won't be too high a price for a Japril reunion. One fan tweeted, "Listen, if matthew has to die for us to get our #japril endgame, it’s a price i’m willing to pay." Other fans let rather graphic pictures do the talking.

Others feel that it doesn't need to be quite as drastic an explanation for Jackson and April to get back together. One fan tweeted, "April comes back reunites with jackson, they serve a sexy cheating trope, they fall for each other again, april divorces paramedic dude, JAPRIL ENDGAME"

Considering how tough Sarah's exit was from 'Grey's Anatomy', fans are sure of one thing, the storyline has to be just that good for Sarah to return. One fan tweeted, "Sarah drew would never step foot on the greys set unless it was for a really good storyline japril is reuniting period" Another fan echoed this sentiment saying,"Thinking about this picture no one loves or ships japril more than sarah she wouldn’t come back unless she really liked the storyline."
