'Girls Trip 2': Tracy Oliver CONFIRMS sequel of romp comedy, says 'everyone's coming back'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During a recent interview, writer, actor and director Tracy Oliver confirmed the sequel to the hilarious 'Girls Trip' movie and has given some updates regarding the film. Oliver has served as one of the writers of this 2017 comedy, along with Erica Rivinoja and Kenya Barris, while the movie was directed by Malcolm D Lee.

'Girls Trip' had an amazing ensemble cast, with the leading members including Regina Hall as Ryan Pierce, Queen Latifah as Sasha Franklin, Jada Pinkett Smith as Lisa Cooper and Tiffany Haddish as Dina. The cast also included Mike Colter as Stewart Pierce and Deborah Ayorinde as Simone. 'Teen Girls' went on to become both critical and commercial success.

Oliver is currently promoting her new and second season of the comedy series, 'Harlem', on Amazon Prime Video. She has served as the creator and executive producer for the series. Moreover, while interviewing with Variety, Oliver dropped a sweet-shocking update on 'Girls Trip' and spilled some beans on the upcoming romp.  

During the interview, Oliver gave a sweet surprise by starting to reveal and confirm that she has a definite update on 'Girls Trip 2'. She further went on to confirm that everyone on the original cast is set to appear in the sequel. She stated, "But I do have a definitive 'Girls Trip' update. So That is officially happening. Everyone's coming back."

She then continued to give some exclusive updates regarding the movie, including the fact that they are set to shoot the sequel in Ghana. To this remark, actress Shoniqua Shandai screamed 'Afrochella!', which is the annual music and cultural festival in Ghana. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether the second part of the film will also take place in a music festival background.      



 

'Girls Trip' follows the story of four friends, Ryan, Sasha, Lisa and Dina, as they reunite in New Orleans to attend the Essence Music Festival. As the four friends reignite their friendship, a lot about their personal and professional intricacies test them and how each of them finds their dreams and hopes again forms the rest of the story. The movie is a perfect mash of romance, brawl, sisterhood and most of all friendship.

'Girls Trip' is available on Amazon Prime Video to buy or rent.
