Amazon Prime Video is gearing up to bring to screens a brand-new comedy and it looks to be very good fun. 'Harlem' is the latest comedy series set to join the streaming platform and will showcase black excellence in all its glory.

The Prime Video series will follow the fun and tumultuous lives of four women in Harlem as they navigate new challenges with fashion and friendship. The comedy will bring to life the different, vibrant personalities of Camille, Tye, Quinn, and Angie as they enter their 30s. When is 'Harlem' releasing and where to watch it?

'Harlem' is set to release on December 3, 2021. You can watch it exclusively on Prime Video.

What is 'Harlem' about?

According to the official Prime Video press release, 'Harlem' is a new comedy following four stylish and ambitious best girlfriends in Harlem NYC, the mecca of Black culture in America. Camille is a popular young anthropology professor at Columbia with extensive knowledge of the dating norms of many cultures, but has a hard time navigating her own love life; Tye is a successful, queer dating app creator who prefers keeping vulnerability—and romantic partners—at arm’s length; Quinn is a hopeless romantic and trust fund fashion designer who is trying to give back to the world while running a struggling business; Angie is a confident, vibrant, and filter-free singer and actress who also lives rent-free and fabulously with Quinn. Together, they level up from their 20s into the next phase of their careers, relationships, and big-city dreams.

Who stars in the  Prime Video comedy?

Meagan Good as Camille

Meagan Good is an American actress and model who started her journey in the entertainment business at the age of four. In her long career, she has appeared in works like 'The Secret Life of Girls', 'Biker Boyz', 'Stomp the Yard', 'Californication', 'Code Black', and more. She is most popularly known for her roles as the lead in NBC's 'Deception and Fox's 'Minority Report'. Good will be a part of the main four women in Prime Video's 'Harlem'. 



 

The series also stars Grace Byers as Quinn, Shoniqua Shandai as Angie, Jerrie Johnson as Tye, and Tyler Lepley as Ian.  Additional recurring guest stars include Whoopi Goldberg as Dr Elise Pruitt, Jasmine Guy as Patricia, Andrea Martin as Robin, Robert Ri’chard as Shawn, Juani Feliz as “Isabela, Kate Rockwell as Ana, and Sullivan Jones as Jameson.

Showrunners

'Harlem' is created, written, and executive produced by Tracy Oliver and is produced by Amazon Studios and Universal Television, in association with Paper Kite Productions. In addition to Oliver,  Amy Poehler and Kim Lessing also serve as executive producers, alongside Dave Becky, Pharrell Williams, and Mimi Valdés. Malcolm D Lee has directed the first two episodes.
