Giorgi Fulbirg-Taylor: Vicious dog bites and tears off 10-year-old boy's skin while playing soccer
BRADFORD, ENGLAND: A 10-year-old schoolboy was left "unable to walk" after an out-of-control dog viciously attacked him and tore off his skin while he was playing soccer with his brother and friends. Giorgi Fulbirg-Taylor, 10, was playing on a soccer field near Bierley Lane with his brother, Blake, and friend, Jimmy, on February 14 when the stocky "mixed terrier" attacked him.
The animal bit into Fulbirg-Taylor's legs and then went for his his arms before it attacked Jimmy, who tried to save him. His mother, Kimberly, who at home at that time, rushed him to a hospital after locals brought him home in a car. Fulbirg-Taylor sustained a puncture wound to his right elbow, three or four deep cuts on his left arm and bite marks on his legs.

'I can't walk'
Kimberly said that a local man called Dean brought her sons home, which was when she found out about the child's injuries. "I said to Giorgi, 'Come in the house' but he said, 'I can't walk'," Kimberly said, per DailyMail, addding, "I initially saw the puncture wound on his left arm. But it wasn't until I got to the hospital, and they cut off his track pants, I saw several bite wounds to both sides of his legs." She revealed that he underwent plastic surgery on February 15 and remained in the hospital until the following day as medics assessed the extent of his wounds.
‘Sorry is not enough’
Kimberly, who works as a veterinary care assistant, called for tougher restrictions on dangerous dogs. She reportedly said, "There need to be tougher laws around dog ownership, and if you are found responsible, you need to respect the consequences. Sorry is not enough. I could never forgive myself if it was one of my dogs that had gone and bitten not just one child but two children and caused significant injuries. Owners need to be more accountable. Giorgi hasn't been back to school yet. He is still scared, and he won't go back to the football field."
West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information regarding the attack, which is currently under investigation. "Police are investigating after reports of two people being bitten by a loose dog on a field in Bierley,” a spokesperson for the force reportedly said, adding, “It happened on Tuesday, 14 February sometime between 2.15 pm and 3pm on a field just off Bierley Lane. Both victims required hospital treatment for their injuries. Inquiries are now ongoing with the owner of the dog and an investigation is underway."
