TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA: Ghislaine Maxwell will reportedly file an appeal this week to have her 20-year sentence for child sex trafficking overturned. The convicted sex offender will argue that one of the jurors who found her guilty violated the law by speaking to his psychiatrist during the hearing. The 20,000-word petition must be submitted before the deadline on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, to the US Court of Appeals 2nd Circuit in New York.

The MoS has discovered that the appeal, which was filed by the disgraced socialite's "pitbull" lawyer Arthur Aidala who defended Harvey Weinstein, will center on whether Juror 50 disobeyed the judge's orders to not talk about the case, reports Daily Mail.

Ghislaine Maxwell GUILTY of sex trafficking for Epstein, Internet says 'rot in hell'

'He violated the jurors' oath'

A source claimed, "The juror admitted he called his psychiatrist during deliberations because he was so upset. This is in clear violation of the judge's order not to discuss the case with anyone." The source added, "It doesn't matter that he was calling a medical professional. He clearly broke the rules and violated the jurors' oath which gives strong grounds for appeal," as reported by Daily Mail.

'Not tried by 12 fair and impartial jurors'

Maxwell's attorneys have determined that there were two other jurors who failed to reveal that they had been sexually assaulted. Juror 50, who went by the name Scotty David, also omitted the fact that he had experienced sexual abuse, which he subsequently claimed enabled him to "influence" the other jurors during the discussions. "Her lawyers will argue that Ms Maxwell was not tried by 12 fair and impartial jurors," the source further stated.

The British socialite was found guilty on five charges stemming from her alleged status as pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's "madam" in December 2021. The disgraced financier died by suicide in prison in 2019 while being detained on suspicion of child sex offenses. At the numerous meetings for his psychotic evaluation, Epstein had insisted "being alive was fun" in the months prior to his suicide. Despite being placed on suicide watch following an apparent attempt, he constantly denied having suicidal thoughts.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons provided The New York Times with access to more than 2,000 documents describing Epstein's behavior in the days leading up to his hanging as "cooperative, goal-directed, and psychologically stable."

The registered sex offender was being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Lower Manhattan along with a huge number of MS-13 members who were in the same unit as him.
