'Get more security': Internet wants to know what's going on at Dallas Zoo as now two monkeys disappear
DALLAS, TEXAS: Police are investigating the disappearance of two emperor tamarin monkeys who went missing on Monday, January 30, 2023, from the Dallas Zoo. In a statement on Twitter, the zoo said, "It was clear the habitat had been intentionally compromised. Emperor tamarin monkeys would likely stay close to home — the zoo searched near their habitat and across Zoo grounds, and did not locate them."
The zoo further tweeted, "Based on the Dallas Police Department’s initial assessment, they have reason to believe the tamarins were taken." According to CBS News, the incident comes after a string of events at the Dallas Zoo, including an investigation that was launched into the "suspicious" death of a vulture named Pin, who had been at the zoo for 33 years and was found dead in its enclosure under "unusual circumstances." Also, a four-year-old clouded leopard named Nova was intentionally let out of her habitat on January 13. She then escaped through a cut-out hole leading to the closure of the zoo and an hours-long search. Nova was eventually found sleeping in a tree on the same day.

'Sounds like some monkey business'
The day after Nova escaped, officials revealed a similar cut was found on an enclosure of langur monkeys, reports The Dallas Morning News. However, another incident has now left people baffled and angry. One said, "Do they not have cameras all over the place? Like how is this happening after a month of bad events?" Another wrote, "Please, please please get more security. If you can’t afford it ask the public for help. I know my family and many of my friends would donate to help stop this SICK MONSTER." One suggested, "It's someone who's working there or someone that lives nearby, who's found a way in & out of the @DallasZoo!"
