'Almost lost her hand': Drunk woman mauled by lion after climbing restricted fence at Russian zoo
USSURIYSK, RUSSIA: A ‘drunk’ woman narrowly escaped death and almost got one of her hands bitten off by a lion. The incident took place in a Russian zoo, Ussuriysk, where video footage shows the exact moment when an ‘intoxicated’ woman jumped off a safety fence and got mauled by ‘Aristo,’ the lion. Fortunately, she survived the provoked attack, and the medical experts are trying to save her arm. The unidentified woman entered the restricted area, where the trespasser ‘almost lost her hand.’ The official statement released by the zoo authority said that her movement had 'provoked a lion - and he injured her hand'.
It further adds, “The woman jumped over the fence as she was being ejected from the zoo. At some point, the woman was left alone and went to the cage with our lion Aristo. Unfortunately, she was very close to the enclosure and the predator grabbed her hand. Having dragged the woman away from the enclosure, the staff gave her first aid.” As per local reports, the attack took place after she tried to get close to the big cat by jumping over the fence in the zoo.
