5 House of the Dragon Characters Most Likely to Die in Season 3 Finale

Ormund Hightower was introduced as the 'Tywin' Lannister of the show. Till now, he has lived up to the name. From fooling Daemon to wreaking havoc in Rhaenyra's rule, Ormund's astute mind has attacked the Black Forces where it hurts the most. The ‘Battle of Tumbleton’ in many ways is happening to get his head on the platter. Hence, it is no shock he is at the top of the list of likely victims. In the books, Ormund did lose his life at the hands of Roderick Dustin in the 'Battle of Tumbleton.' 'Roddy the Ruin' from the show is also gearing up to come to Tumbleton. Just like in the books, the strategist may lose his life to the physical prowess of the commander of the Winter Wolves

Of everyone in 'Team Green,' Halaena Targaryen is in the most danger. She is currently in the Blacks' stronghold, pregnant with Aegon's heir. Rhaenyra has promised Alicent mercy in exchange for Aemond's life. But with the way things keep changing in Westeros, it wouldn't be shocking if Rhaenyra backs out. In the books, Halaena meets her end by jumping from Maegor's Holdfast. Some accounts say that she died after hearing of Maelor's death. She is currently pregnant with her second son, who was Maelor in the books, making this theory particularly likely. Some accounts also state that she was killed on Rhaneyra's orders, which can also happen in the show. Currently, Halaena's increased security, along with distance from Jahaera, has pushed her to the breaking point. It will be no surprise if she takes the heartbreaking step in the third season finale.

This season welcomed the long-awaited appearance of Alicent's third son, Daeron Targaryen. Daeron grew up away from his family and under the strict upbringing of his uncle Ormund Hightower. From the beginning, he has been on the radar of the Blacks. After Aegon's supposed death and Aemond's disappearance, he was now the strongest opposition to Rhaenyra's rule. Ormund saved him once by fooling Daemon, and Gwayne saved him the next time by identifying assassins sent by Rhaenyra. Black forces will surely target Daeron in 'Battle of Tumbleton.' In the teaser of the next episode, Gwayne is seen dragging Daeron away from harm's way. Does Gwayne succeed? Fans will have to wait till the episode. In the books, Daeron does not die in the first Battle of Tumbleton, but meets his end in the second. If the show clubs the two, Daeron may perish in the season he was introduced.

Rhaena Targaryen spent the entirety of season three hiding from Rhaenyra. In the last episode, her self-imposed exile ended. Rhaenyra now knows what she did in the 'Battle of Gullet.' Her stepmother may have forgiven her for now, but as seen from Rhaenyra's behavior with Halaena, the Queen is slowly losing her grip. If she becomes distrustful of Daemon, his daughter may pay the price with her life. In the books, Rhaena survives the 'Dance of the Dragons,' but Nettles disappears. Die-hard fans know that Rhaena's story in the book has been clubbed with Nettles' story. Rhaenyra orders Nettles' execution after the dragonseeds' betrayal. As seen in the last episode, Ulf is all ready to betray Rhaenyra. This may affect Rhaena's prospects as well.

Roddy the Ruin, aka Lord Roderick Dustin, is all set to wreak havoc on Greens in the 'Battle of Tumbleton.' He is on a mission to serve Queen Rhaenyra at the behest of Lord Cregan Stark. As a commander, he has already delivered some huge blows to 'Team Green.' He killed Lord Jason Lannister, a big supporter of Aegon's cause. Winter Wolves, led by Lord Dustin and the Tully forces, were on their way to the capital when Rhaenyra redirected them towards Tumbleton to deal with Ormund's growing threat. In their new passage, they also killed Ser Criston Cole, another major member of Team Green in the Butcher's Ball. The massive army was last seen marching to Tumbleton with Cole's head on a spike. In the book, Lord Dustin not only participates in the Battle of Tumbleton, but his forces defeat ten times larger Green forces. However, he meets his end at the hands of Ser Bryndon Hightower in the same battle. The show's 'Battle of Tumbleton' is sure to cost some lives, and Roddy may not escape this ruin.
