As Hurricane Ida makes its way towards the Gulf Coast of the US, Mississippi has prepared itself with sand and bags, staged at several locations for public use. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency also opened a number of shelters to help people during the storm.

Harrison County opened some locations on Friday, August 27, along with Jackson and Hancock county’s locations. But people have been asked to carry their own shovels since only bags and sand will be given. Also, they have to follow mask mandates and reasonable social distancing norms are expected to be followed. Below is the list of shelters and sandbag locations in Mississippi.
