MOSCOW, IDAHO: The barbaric murders of four University of Idaho students in their off-campus accommodation have been swathed in mystery. Almost three weeks after the fatal killings, police are yet to locate the murder weapon or discover any concrete evidence leading to the killer. Amid this debacle, a wave of frustration has been building up among the public and the family members of the victims.
The four college students identified as roommates Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Kernodle's boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20, were discovered dead with multiple stab wounds in their home in Moscow on November 13. Police revealed that the students were murdered between 3 am and 4 am and bodies were found on the second and third floor of the accommodation. MPD also noted that they had received over 2,645 emails, 2,770 calls, 1,084 digital media submissions, and 4,000 crime scene photos. But pointed out that “at this time, no suspect has been identified”.

Taking out their frustration, many took to their social media handles to lash out at the ‘coward’ murderer of the four students. One user wrote “To the killer, the coward, watching us react to the #MoscowMurders. You are nothing. You are a nobody. No one will remember you. You’ll be found & the light of the #IdahoFour will cast a shadow over you & keep you in the darkness. In death, as they did in life. #IdahoStudents”. Second user said “This is how best to bring a serial killer into the light! You taunt and tease him. You shine a light into the corners where he may lurk. You make him acutely aware that we know he is watching.”

Creepy to think this person is watching…but almost certainly they are. I cannot imagine how it would feel to go to bed every night with crushing guilt or, at the very least, fear of getting caught. Living like that isn’t living. You will never escape the mental prison/hell

“I just can’t help feel the killer is reading these posts. Maybe commentating, maybe not. It’s just disgusting & scary. Condolences to the friends, family, and community.” The third user asserted while the fourth tweeted, “Creepy to think this person is watching…but almost certainly they are. However, police shockingly revealed that they are unsure whether the quadruple homicide was a targeted attack, despite previously informing the public that they believed the victims were targeted by a killer or killers. Authorities have combed through thousands of pieces of evidence and various leads, but there has been no further progress in the case. Many worried university students have publicly stated that they will not return to campus for the final weeks of the semester.
