LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Excitement among viewers is at its peak as George Miller's 'Mad Max' is making a comeback after nine years. 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' serves as a prequel to 'Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)'.

The film co-produced and directed by George Miller introduces Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa. She is joined by Chris Hemsworth who plays the role of Dementus, the warlord leader of the Biker Horde that abducts Furiosa.

'Furiosa' trailer has already amped up the anticipated for an action-adventure ride as Furiosa battles with some of the most dreadful villains.

Ahead of the film's release, here's a look at the best and most dangerous villains of the franchise:

1. Immortan Joe

Immortan Joe, formerly known as Colonel Joe Moore in the pre-apocalyptic world, is undeniably the most dangerous villain in the 'Mad Max' franchise.

His cruel nature and scale of brutality overpower all other antagonists, securing him the top position. Be it war or politics, he excels at both and has created havoc in the wasteland.

He is backed by the most loyal soldiers, making it extremely difficult to beat him.

2. Lord Humungus

He may appear somewhat comical with his metal mask atop his imposing physique, but he's not someone you'd want to cross. He leads the bloodthirsty biker gang in 'Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior'.

Apart from his great physical abilities, he is well-versed in the tactics and knowledge to command a brutal, merciless army.

He and his men show no hesitation in killing, solidifying his status as one of the most dreadful antagonists.

3. Toecutter

Toecutter appears as the main antagonist in the first 'Mad Max' film. His immoral and cruel behavior renders him one of the most menacing villains, despite not causing as much havoc as others in the franchise.

He instills fear in the Wasteland with his habit of threatening anyone and everyone he wants including mothers and their innocent babies. His maniac behavior and wicked acts pose great challenges to the protagonist.

4. Aunty Entity

The most dangerous villains are often those who don't see themselves as such. This is exemplified in the character of Aunty Entity in the 'Mad Max' franchise.

She appears as the main villain in 'Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome'. The biggest noteworthy point of her character is that she wasn't a bad person initially, she was driven by the noble mission to restore civilization.

However, along the way, she turned into an oppressive ruler. She continues to believe herself as the hero and is willing to kill anyone who she thinks might threaten what she has built.

5. Rictus Erectus

Rictus Erectus, the son of Immorton Joe, is one of the most dangerous villains of the franchise who creates havoc in 'Mad Max: Fury Road'.

He possesses immense physical strength and needs no weapons to kill anyone.

He shows no mercy and kills anyone who comes in his way on the battleground. However, he isn't intelligent, unlike most other villains.
