Pack of stray dogs rips off four-year-old boy's face, killing him within minutes while he cycled near home
Five canines attacked a four-year-old child while he was riding his bicycle and killed him. After the attack, the boy's body was found by the neighbours in the village of Safarovo, Bashkortostan in Russia. He was attacked not too far from his home on Saturday.
A woman who happened to be the neighbor of the child rushed to the scene after hearing a series of aggressive growls and the cries of terrified child, which died down very soon. She told the local media that she saw the dogs tearing something apart on the street.

She tried to shoo the dogs away, but when she succeeded, she was left horrified to see what was left of the child. She said, "he was lying on the ground with his scalp and more than half of his face ripped off," and added, "His left ear, nose, both cheeks were torn away. I could see the skull. He was dead.”
After she called the emergency services, the neighbor covered the child with a sheet. She said, "The dogs were prowling alongside. I covered the boy with a sheet to prevent them from mutilating him further." The mother of the young boy learned of his death 20 minutes after he had gone out to play.
The mother revealed, "I was doing laundry when he asked permission to go to the street and ride his bicycle. Twenty minutes later a next-door woman ran up and told he had been killed by dogs." This incident occurred after a number of complaints were filed by the villagers about packs of dogs that showed aggressive behavior.
Despite a number of complaints, the authorities did not take any action and also did not ensure any form of security. It was also reported that an investigation will be undertaken by the Russian Investigative Committee into "negligence that resulted in the death of a minor". Local media also said that the officials who failed to ensure security in the area could be charged.
Spokesperson for the village’s administration said, "Those responsible for the incident will be brought to justice."
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old girl in Illinois, Chicago died in a shooting incident in a fast-food parking lot in Homan Square on Sunday, April 18. Her father, who was with her in the vehicle was also shot and sustained injuries. The incident happened at a McDonald's on 3200 West Roosevelt Road, near the intersection with South Kedzie Avenue, at 4.18 pm. Both victims were inside the car when they "heard gunshots and felt pain," according to Chicago police.
