Liam Payne slammed by One Direction fans after bashing Zayn Malik on Logan Paul podcast

Payne criticized former One Direction members, particularly Zayn Malik, on the podcast and fans were outraged

Liam Payne recently appeared on Logan Paul's podcast, and One Direction fans are not happy about it. In the podcast, Paul asked him about his time in One Direction, as well as what occurred when he left the band. However, as Payne began to criticize former One Direction members, especially Zayn Malik, on the podcast, fans were left outraged.

Liam said of Zayn Malik, "Listen, I don't agree with any of his actions. I can't commend some of the things that he's done. I can't be on his side for that. What I can say is I understand and your only hope is that at some point in their life, the person at the other end of the phone wants to receive the help that you're willing to give them.”

Payne also spoke of an alleged backstage altercation. "There was one moment where there was an argument backstage and one member, in particular, threw me up a wall. So I said to him, 'If you don't remove those hands, there's a high likelihood you'll never use them again,'" he revealed. 

Fans of One Direction were taken aback since they had not expected Payne to sit down with Paul. Some have even referred to it as a poor professional decision. One person wrote on Twitter, “Liam Payne getting interviewed by logan paul to talk shit about the rest of 1d….. that man’s career is FLOPPING for good” “'Strip that down outsold everybody in the band’ Liam Payne says while being on an interview with no one else but logan paul,” another added. 

Payne's behavior on the podcast has also been criticized by fans, who have labeled his career a failure after he demeaned others. Others have brought up Payne's previous actions against his ex-fiancée after witnessing him criticizing his former bandmates. Someone wrote, “Liam Payne and logan paul talking ab ‘zayn being a rude guy’ as if one of them didn’t film d3ad ppl and the other literally JUST cheated on his fiancé.” “Liam Payne's career was so dead he had to go CHEAT on his child bride THEN go LOGAN PAUL to receive any sort of relevancy. that’s down bad. a career in the fucking trenches. not a single breath,” another added.

Others have chastised Payne for participating in the podcast, claiming that he must be at the lowest point of his career to be a guest on Logan Paul's show. One person wrote, “You know you’ve reached the lowest point in your career when you’re in a logan paul podcast.” “How terribly does your life have to be going to go from selling out stadiums around the world including Wembley Stadium to going to being the guest on Logan Paul’s podcast?” someone wondered. “Liam Payne is crazy as hell bc out of all the places u could've done a tell-all u choose a logan paul podcast and expect us to take u seriously ?” another remarked. 

Following the disbandment of One Direction in 2015, Payne embarked on a solo career. He debuted in 2016 with ‘Strip That Down,’ a collaboration with Quavo, and has since worked with Rita Ora, Wiz Khalifa, and Ed Sheeran. Payne has also collaborated with TikTok star Dixie D'Amelio on a Christmas tune he produced for Pharrell Williams.
