MOSCOW, IDAHO: It has almost been a month since four University of Idaho students were brutally murdered in an off-campus three-story rented home on November 13 and the killer is still at large. Police have released little to no information related to the suspect but have advised the locals to remain vigilant and communicate with family members while outside. This has led many to speculate that law enforcement officers might have knowledge about the killer and that a suspect may even be in the area.

During an interview today with Fox News, forensics expert Joseph Scott Morgan said the case is taking so long because "the evidence is multi-layered and it has evidence that predates the actual event." He continued, "This location was actually what they have termed as party house. You are going to have a lot of partial DNA evidences, they are commonly known as the touch DNA that they (police officers) have to search through."

When asked if he thinks the killer is in the area, Morgan said, "We don't really know who the suspect is right now, but I do know this, that it is a savage attack, and so yeah, you should remain vigilant at this location on this campus because you don't know where this person is."  Morgan added that "none of the items within that dwelling would have been released yet" if he was the coroner or the forensics expert of the case.

He also drew comparisons to the Parkland shooting by saying, "When you compare this case to Parkland, they knew who Nikolas Cruz was. And they kept that location locked down for years and years. They had fencing around the place, they locked all the doors down and they even took the jury up there. We don't even know who this person is............and that's problematic for me personally. I don't know how anybody else feels about it, that's a problem for me, you should keep it locked down, what's it gonna hurt, I don't know what the sense of urgency is."

According to Independent, officers previously said, "Investigators have been monitoring online activity related to this ongoing and active case and are aware of the large amount of rumors and misinformation being shared as well as harassing and threatening behavior toward potentially involved parties." Meanwhile, the four victims were honored at the university’s winter commencement on Saturday, December 10.
