MARSHFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS: Christopher Keeley, 27, who is accused of stabbing and bludgeoning an elderly couple to death is on the run. The suspect, police say, may have changed his appearance and dyed his hair red. Carl Mattson and Vicki Mattson, both septuagenarians were found dead by the Marshfield Police Department deputies as they were called to a welfare check at a house on Gotham Hill Drive after 9.pm on Tuesday, November 29. As the manhunt continues, Keeley's criminal past has come to light.

According to Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz, the bodies of Carl and Vicki Mattson were found fatally stabbed and beaten during the review. Their dog Bailey was also found dead in the home. Police said the killings weren't random. Cruz said Keeley knew the couple but didn't say how they knew each other. It's not yet been disclosed how or when the murders occurred or how much of a head start the suspect had before police were alerted. Christopher, who's a warrant out for his arrest on murder charges, has since been on the run.

Police have issued a BOLO for the suspect, who, according to Marshfield Police Chief Phillip Tavares, "may have changed his appearance and dyed his hair red." Now as the manhunt enters its third day, Keeley's criminal record has also been revealed. From maliciously damaging her grandmother's car in 2013, when he was 18, to possession of stolen weapons and drugs in 2020, he appeared in Quincy District Court in June 2013, when he was 18, for maliciously damaging a motor vehicle in Weymouth, where he was living at the time. He was charged after his 65-year-old grandmother called Weymouth police to report that Keeley "refused to get out of her vehicle and also damaged the car" When police arrived, they found that the rear driver's side window had been smashed and there was broken glass inside the vehicle, NBC Boston reported.

In December 2014, the report said, Keeley was charged with burglary and willful destruction of property in Weymouth. The documents say he argued with his sister and then tried to enter her apartment to get his keys. He continued to bang and kick on the door even after she threw out his keys, and eventually kicked it in to get inside. In October 2015, he was charged with driving on a suspended license in Weymouth. In August 2016, Keeley was charged with unarmed robbery and assault after he and another man allegedly assaulted and robbed a 21-year-old autistic man who was on his way to a friend's house in Weymouth.

The most recent case heard in Quincy District Court involves an incident that occurred in Quincy in January 2020. Keeley was found in an SUV with two other men and was in possession of a stolen 9 mm handgun, brass knuckles, numerous baggies and containers of marijuana and other pills, $2,000 in cash and a digital scale. He was also in possession of several baggies and containers of other pills, as well as brass knuckles, according to the report, which cites court documents.

A black 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with Massachusetts license plate 7490HT was last seen being driven by Keeley. The car was discovered later Wednesday, but without Keeley or anyone else in it, authorities said. Meanwhile, attorneys for Keeley's family said in a statement that Mass State Police have received full cooperation from Mr Keeley's family. Cruz went on to say that while they do not suspect him to be in the area, he is "armed and dangerous." "We will be working hard to locate and arrest him," Cruz added.
