Dozens of teenagers fell after a floor collapsed at a weekend house party in suburban Denver. The incident happened in the 20900 block of Princeton Place in Aurora, Colorado around 9:30 pm on February 26, Saturday. Police stated that three teenagers were injured, while three of them suffered minor injuries, one was severely injured. The floor collapse broke the gas pipeline in the home and caused a leak but was immediately shut off. The presence of the homeowners during the incident is still not confirmed.

The viral video of the 18th birthday party shows teens jumping and grooving on the floor giving up and collapsing into the basement. The owners of the house were hosting a birthday celebration for their 18-year-old. Authorities said nearly 100-150 teens jumped together on the floor when it collapsed. The firefighters said that the house was unfit for the party-goer’s occupancy at the accident time. The police officers discovered the address of the house after the footage was shared on social media.

"It's amazing that no one was seriously hurt or killed," Scott Richardson, special operations chief for SMFR, told KUSA.

Two teens, who were present at the party named Cass Henry, 15, and his brother AJ Henry, 17, told KUSA that they could hear the floor cracking apart but didn’t have enough tie to respond as it happened quickly and the party got out of hand. Cass also had a broken ankle after the collapse.

“I think it just got leaked around a little bit so everyone thought it was just an open house, “Cass said. He added, “People started just showing up.”

Richardson said that this is the most horrific incident of floor collapse he has ever encountered in his life. He stated, “It's not the static weight of us just standing on [the floor], but if people are jumping up and down, and that creates what we call a "shock load" to the floor, and then you can't really predict what's going to happen.”
