SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: After Twitter let go almost 7,500 of their employees, many are crying foul. However, Twitteratis were ruthless and trolled such employees who were complaining. Interestingly, reactions have been posted on the microblogging platform now headed by Elon Musk. It is reported that the department that was most severely hit by the latest move includes Twitter’s product trust and safety, communications, policy, social good, accessibility, and a few core engineering teams.

In the top tier, Arnaud Weber, VP of Consumer Product Engineering, and Tony Haile, Senior Director of Product overseeing its work with news publishers were laid off too. An unsigned email sent to current employees obtained by The Verge read, “Throughout the last week, Elon has spent time with a number of employees, customers, partners, policymakers and Twitter users. He is looking forward to communicating with everyone about his vision for the company soon.”

Reports are coming that a few employees have filed lawsuits against their company and claiming it violated the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) and California’s WARN Act, as per The Verge.

Some of the tweets roasting the fired employees read, “Joe Biden told 11,000 keystone XL pipeline workers to just find another job. Twitter employees can do the same.” The other said, “To those impacted by #TwitterLayoffs not involved in the ‘cancelling’ of others and information suppression, I am very sorry. #Empathy. If you were, you abused your position and destroyed people’s reputation, maybe their livelihood. #Twitter has clean slate. @elonmusk”

"If the fired but still get paid for 3 months staff #TwitterLayoffs are not happy they can simply do what #FJB told the pipeline workers to do when they lost their jobs... @catturd2 @elonmusk @TPVJohn,” tweeted one more netizen. "Elon Musk has fired the Curation team, the Human Rights team, and the Ethics, Transparency, and Accountability team. Nothing of value was lost. #TwitterLayoffs"

Steven Crowder had an interesting take on the Twitter firings, as he shared a clip with this caption, “This is a typical day for an employee at Twitter. For reference, the average salary is $146,546 per year. #TwitterLayoffs.” Another tweet read, “If you are a Twitter employee and you participated in the culling of free speech, you deserve every ounce of stress you are feeling right now #TwitterTakeover #twitterlayoffs.”
