'Fast X' Review: Jason Momoa's Dante wears scrunchies, paints his nails, and defies all laws of gravity
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Fast X' has just reached your nearest theatres and while fans of the franchise have been awaiting this project for a long time, mixed reactions are coming in from all over the world. The ninth 'Fast & Furious' movie, released in 2021, packed its lead heroes into a rocket car and literally shot them into space. So, with the next movie, fans naturally expected something as spectacular, if not more, and while the movie tried to deliver something to surpass its predecessor, it really didn't.
The thing that literally saved the movie was the charming yet psychopathic behavior of Jason Momoa's Dante. Momoa is playing the villian in this movie and he's killing it, both literally and figuratively. With his good looks and psychotic behavior, the film moves from being unbearable to being a breath of fresh air. Dante is the son of the Fast Five villain Hernan Reyes’ son and is here to take revenge on Dom Toretto and his 'familia'.

Vin Diesel almost did not play Dominic Toretto in 'Fast & Furious' series
An opera singer with a knack for scrunchies
Jason Momoa is playing Dante in 'Fast X' and has proved his versatility as an actor. Dante is an evil man, a psychopath, but will surely give you some serious Mojo Jojo vibes. He likes having a manicure with dead bodies, wearing scruchies, and even applying multi-colored nailpaints. Yet he talks about blowing up the Vatican like its a simple weekend plan, and he's annoyingly funny while doing all of this. If he wasn’t the super villain, we might actually consider his demeanor borderline "cute."
But, all in all, he gets ten points for keeping the movie light and bearable till the end. There are many car chases and action, obviously. But, in the middle of an intense car chase, Dante is seen riding a bike while singing his heart away. That particular scene brought out many characterstics of Dante and how he doesn't define the universal law of a "bad man" and goes against the stigma surrounding Hollywood villians.
Jason Momoa's Dante saves 'Fast X' by breaking the rules of gravity
Gravity isn't something that's a thing in the universe of 'Fast X'. While it is understandable that the movie is audience-focused and wants them to be hooked, but some scenes in the movie are just too hilarious. There are car chases along with bike races, and the characters are flying in the air as if the floor is lava. There's a particularly ridiculous scene where Dante releases a big bomb in Rome and there is a car chase involving the bomb. The bomb literally travels the entire city of Rome in hot pursuit, with not a single scratch on it and yet it ends up exploding in the water.
'Fast X' is now available to watch in theaters near you.
