The final trailer of 'Andor' was revealed at D23 and the reactions suggested that the Diego Luna-starrer was one of the most-anticipated series of the year. Over the years, 'Star Wars' spin-offs have shed light on characters who in their own way have shaped the course of the franchise history. The upcoming series serves as a prequel to 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' which in turn serves as a prequel to 'A New Hope'.

The official synopsis for the much-awaited prequel reads, "The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception, and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero."

Fans react to the final 'Andor' trailer on YouTube and Twitter

"This feels like the adult Star Wars show we’ve always been waiting for," one of the fans commented on the trailer page. This was seconded by another who wrote, "I'm glad Star Wars has now given their time to explore more characters in the series. Truly gives more credence to their worldbuilding." For one segment of the fans, it was the production values that were a reason to watch. "I’m more excited for this than any other Star Wars show, even Mando S3. It looks promising. The new sneak-peak, the early fan reactions/reviews, the quality, the cinematography, the action!" one of the fans wrote.

"Andor is looking very high quality like Rogue One so far, probably even grittier with desperate stakes! Love the Prometheus/Alien: Covenant/Arrival hue of this! The line of Stellan Skarsgård that he WILL die in this but might as well give it his all was sad but hard-hitting! Also surprised Martine from Morbius is in this!" a fan said comparing it to a string of Hollywood flicks. "No happy music, intense dialogue without giving away the actual intensity of the scenes. Without visuals, this could literally sound like a documentary on a real-life rebellion, and I think that's what they were going for, a perspective on the common people but just put into Star Wars," another added.

"honest opinion: i think this show has the potential to be one of the best-received star wars shows bc ppl don’t have unrealistic expectations, these are lesser-known characters that have room to surprise us, not mount Rushmore level characters that have to live up to the unbelievable hype," one of the fans wrote.

"Could be the first decent piece of Star Wars since Rogue One, based on the people involved and the cinematography looking actually good again," one of the tweets read. "This looks so much better then Obi Wan! Now I appreciated what they attempted to do with OBW it just missed the mark but this is less fantasy circus & more Game of Thrones quality production! or hate GOT there is no denying its production quality & acting. SWA looks on par," one of the fans tweeted. "Don’t give me three episodes at once if there are only a limited number. I won’t be able to cope when it ends too quick, just like Kenobi,"

Some felt the absence of aliens in the series was a letdown. "Again, looks amazing, can’t wait for it. But I’m still a little disgusted by the apparent lack of aliens in this series," one of the fans opined. "I am not surprised but still so excited to see #SawGerrera in #Andor ! #RogueOne is my favorite #StarWars movie, and this is looking like it will be my favorite of the shows! Can’t wait!" another wrote.
