With the likes of K-2SO and Saw Gerrera set to return, the platform serves as the perfect entry point for Jyn

One of the major questions about 'Andor' is if Felicity Jones's Jyn Erso appears in either of the two seasons. Right off the bat, her cameo in Season 1 is highly unlikely as the 'Rogue One' prequel will explore Cassian Andor's (Diego Luna) journey and his foray into the rebellion. For those who watched the film which serves as a prequel to 'A New Hope', it's not just the main protagonist, but practically the entire group of heroes who perish in their attempt to get the Death Star plans to the rebellion.

From the trailers and talks about the show, fans know that K-2SO (voiced by Alan Tudyk) and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) will be returning. This also serves as the perfect entry point for Jyn, although her first meeting with Andor happens only in the movie. However, there is always a door open for a potential cameo.

'Andor': Should you watch any of the Star Wars movies before the series release?

With 'Andor' set to perhaps take the usual approach of multiple characters having their own storylines, maybe Saw and Jyn might have a small arc explained. In the movie, she is seen telling Whitaker's Saw that their last encounter ended with him giving her a loaded blaster and a knife. He cut ties with her once he realized that she was the daughter of an Imperial Science Officer. Whether this sequence will be shown remains to be seen. While there is no official confirmation that she will return or Jones reprising the role (considering it's already been five years since the movie was released), there might be a new face playing the character.

The official synopsis for the much-awaited prequel reads, "The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception, and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero."

'Andor' releases on September 21, 2022, on Disney+ with three episodes. This will be followed by one episode weekly on the streaming service.
