'Bachelor in Paradise' 2022: Bachelor Nation calls out cast for 'double standards' with Young twins, says 'age-shaming is ridiculous'
VALLARTA, MEXICO: On Tuesday's episode of 'Bachelor in Paradise', two girls found fresh hope, putting the singles to the test like never before. Bachelor Nation, on the other hand, was eager to point out the 'double standards' imposed on contestant age, particularly for different genders.
Justin and Joey, twin brothers from Rachel and Gabby's season who resemble Pete Davidson's distant relatives, are on a double date at the beach. They're two of the youngest contenders at 24, which worries their other beachgoers. They ask Florence and Shanae, both in their 30s, on a date, and their age difference rapidly devolves into a horrible joke for the rest of the ensemble. "I had no idea Shanae was into younger men until she met me," Jacob adds. "So, in the end, we'll see if it turns out if Tarzan isn't able to tame a wild cougar."

Joey and Justin, the 24-year-old twins who were kicked off Gabby and Rachel's season on night one, arrived at the beach next and swiftly asked Shanae and Florence, also in their 30s, out on a date. Both ladies consented, and the quartet went to a bar, where Wells led them through a series of cantina games. Both women were astonished by their connection with their date after some armpit licking, kissing, and human burrito rolling. "It was effortless. All the feels and connections were there," Shanae told the cameras.
"I didn't feel like they were 24 years old at all... I’ve been exploring multiple guys here, and I haven't had that deep connection, what I've had tonight, with Joey. What I’m feeling right now is 100 percent different than any other dates I’ve been on."
Furthermore, Florence and Shanae appear to get along well with Justin and Joey. "Going on a double date as a 24-year-old with two 30-year-old women? That's a flex!" Florence explains. "It's a flex, and I'm here for it!" "Age ain't nothing but a number," Florence concurred in her own confessional, before adding, "Although, I have a 28-year-old brother, so let's not do hometowns anytime soon."
Seeing the rest of the cast mock the Twins for their age, made fans put their detective hats on. One of the first tweets shows the age of some of the cast members, “The twins are 24 that’s so young.” Another tweet read, "Logan, a 26-year-old, accusing the 24-year-old twins of being too young to be here." Bachelor Nation was quick to remind that not long ago the Prom Queen on that very same beach was the same age of the Twins now, "Joke after jokes about how young the twins are and they're the SAME age prom queen Serena P was on the beach last year." Calling out the "double standards," another fan wrote, "As a 33-year-old woman I understand Shanae and Flo’s reservations with age, especially since this is the twins. However this is the same show where a 40-year-old man can get engaged to a 25-year-old woman and it’s no big deal. Always the double standards."

One fan tweeted about the age of the ensemble, "Everyone needs to calm down, half of them are not much older than the twins." While loving them for the positive energy they bring to Paradise, a fan wrote, "I’m sure I’ll take this back in like 5 mins, but the twins are bringing a fun, positive energy to the beach that a lot of the other guys are lacking. And some of the guys cracking jokes are like 2 years older than them. So for now I’m team twins." One fan called out the producers for bringing the Twins on board just to make fun of them as they did during their 'Bachelorette' debut, "Bach producers bringing the twins back just to embarrass them again." Bashing the cast for age-shaming the Twins, a fan tweeted, "There are a lot of reasons the twins are meh but the age-shaming is ridiculous bc everyone else there is like 5 minutes older than them."
