Who is Erik Denton? Liliana Carrillo's ex sought help for her but LAPD allegedly did nothing: 'She was very sick'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After being on the run for several hours, 30-year-old Liliana Carrillo was arrested for allegedly killing her three young children — two girls and a boy — in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Reseda, Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The latest reports also claim that the police confirmed that Carrillo is the "sole suspect" in the case.
Many new details about Carrillo are emerging. From being "very sick" for "several months", and going through a difficult custody battle to shaming some 'Teen Mom' stars on her online blog expressing her shock “as to how or why they still have custody” of their children, newer details about Carrillo are only surprising and some of them involve her baby daddy, Eric Denton.

Los Angeles police Lt Raul Jovel said that the children's grandmother returned home from work on Saturday, April 17 and found the bodies and the mother missing.
Custody dispute with ex-boyfriend
According to a report, Carrillo had been involved in a custody dispute with the father of the children. The Los Angeles Times cited family court documents that show Eric Denton, the father and ex-boyfriend, sought custody of the children aged 3 years, 2 years and 6 months on March 1.
On March 4, Denton requested a temporary emergency visitation order from the court petitioning for a mental health evaluation of Carrillo. Documents show that in response to this, Carrillo sought a temporary domestic violence restraining order against Denton on March 12 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, documents show. According to the report, orders were drawn up at a March 26 hearing. Another hearing was scheduled for April 14.
Who is Erick Denton?
In a short interview, Denton confirmed that he was the father of the three children and said that he had been in a custody battle with Carrillo after she began acting mentally unstable. "Liliana was very sick, and this is not — she was not herself, and it’s been going on for several months that she has been unwell," Denton's cousin, Dr Teri Miller, concurred to KTTV.
Denton's cousin went on to talk about how much the children meant to him. "I mean, we’re completely destroyed. Those kids were everything. I mean, his whole being and essence just revolve around those kids. He had his heart set on seeing the kids because he was supposed to pick the kids up today and have them for the week."
A fundraiser has been started by Denton's childhood friend Brandy Kirkpatrick on GoFundMe to help Denton. The fundraiser has already raised $26,080 of $50,099 goal.
Carrillo wasn't doing so well
Although reports say that Carrillo never received a psychological evaluation, the family noticed she hadn’t been well since giving birth to her second child. According to the family, things got even worse after her third pregnancy and reports of new Covid-19 strains.
Miller said that Denton had repeatedly reached out to the Department of Children and Family Services, as well as the police, because he knew Carrillo "needed help", but "in LA they wouldn't help. The LAPD would not get involved," he had reportedly said. Miller added, "He’s also frustrated with the system, because the system failed them. The system failed these kids."
Miller also said, "She believed that the city they were living in was unsafe and that there was a sex-trafficking ring and that most of the city was involved in it."
Shamed 'Teen Moms'
It has come to attention that Carrillo ran a blog called 'Blog for Good' where she reportedly wrote and shared inspirational messages. In a 2013 post, she went on a rant against 'Teen Mom 2' cast, claiming they "physically and emotionally abuse their partners and then victimize themselves."
"My sister watches this crap and I got stuck eating lunch in the living room with her," she reportedly wrote. "They are involved in heavy drugs, cannot escape them, and then cry about how they can’t access their child… I mean really?"
"All of these mothers that have been presented have in my opinion, and forgive me if this offends anyone but it is my opinion and I hold strongly to it, just idiot after idiot. I do not feel pity for them," she reportedly wrote, adding, "There’s no denying that there are a few mothers in the show who progress from their situations and grow from their troubles but there are others that I am shocked as to how or why they still have custody of their child."
At one point in the post, she spoke about her own "unhealthy relationships" where she would "lose control". "'I am not perfect, I still have many issues but overall I am happy and proud of my past. I love my present life and look forward to my future."
