Spoilers for 'Elsbeth' Episode 2

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: After a lengthy one-month hiatus, the lovable Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) is finally back on CBS's 'Elsbeth.' The series, which is the creative brainchild of 'The Good Wife' creators, Robert King and Michelle King, made its debut on February 29.

As seen in the first episode, Elsbeth was first viewed with skepticism by her NYPD colleagues, but after solving the complicated murder case of Olivia Cherry (Alex Costello), she has finally begun to carve out a niche for herself.

The most recent episode also included Elsbeth using her cunning to solve the murder of snobby building president Gloria Blecher (Linda Lavin). With this new complicated case, Elsbeth is also tasked with resolving her own personal motive of exposing C. W. Wagner (Wendell Pierce).

However, what astonished Elsbeth was the true motive for the murder, which required years of preparation and a scheme. So let's get started and learn more about this.

Gloria Blecher is your typical building's cooperative board president. She is exceedingly disagreeable and disrupts your life with her incessant interruptions and pretentious comments, something that we all have faced at some point in our lives.

The building owners were adamant about selling units when real estate agent Joann Lenox (Jane Krakowski) presented a lucrative proposition that could bring them unprecedented wealth; however, Gloria being Gloria, dissipated the concept.

Overwhelmed by her conceited demeanor, the board members and Joann plotted to kill the elderly woman by deceitfully losing her balcony grills, and they were successful in their plan.

With this new case, Elsbeth may have a bright chance to further her position in the NYPD, which may contribute to her own personal goal of exposing the corruption of Captain Wagner, something she still doesn't think he is capable of.

What was the real reason behind Gloria Blecher's murder?

At first glance, it may seem that Gloria's haughty demeanor and the residents' frustration with her may have led to the murder, but behind lies a sinister scheme.

A startling revelation emerges Joann's years-long scheme paid off—there was no celebrity purchaser of the apartments, after all.

Then unfolds the shocking truth that she was motivated by her desire to avenge her mother, Sadie, whom Gloria had humiliated thirty years prior.

Sadie's downfall was precipitated by her affair with Gloria's husband; she was ejected from the home and was unable to find employment elsewhere.

The revelation was truly shocking—until an entirely new discovery emerged. Why did Gloria vehemently oppose renovations? She had used one of her walls to conceal her husband's mummified body.

Naturally, the most recent case caused some astonishment among the NYPD team at first. However, by showcasing her extraordinary investigative abilities, Elsbeth once again showed why she should be on the team.

With Elsbeth solving the crimes with her own unique flair, it's logical to conclude that she's getting close to obtaining the evidence against Wagner. This might mean plenty of drama in the next episodes, and hopefully, she also gets to explore more of New York City as she wants to.
