DENTON, TEXAS: After a man's dead body was unexplainably found in a stream, the police detained his wife on a charge of first-degree murder. According to reports, 44-year-old Dora Alvarez Maldonado informed the authorities in Denton that her spouse had been drowned on August 16 by an unidentified male.

A little after 3 o'clock, emergency personnel answered a 911 call in the 1700 section of Spencer Road. The person on the phone reported seeing a woman in a creek with what seemed to be a dead male. When the Denton firefighters arrived at the site, they found Dora's dead husband.

The medics declared the man dead as soon as they arrived at the scene. The man's identity will not be released until his living family members are informed of his tragic death. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office received the dead man's corpse. According to authorities, Maldonado first claimed that a stranger had killed her husband near the stream when police interrogated her about his death. Police officials also stated that she later reportedly claimed that she had fabricated the story and then admitted to killing her spouse.

Maldonado has been detained in the Denton County Jail after being convicted of first-degree murder, and her bond has been fixed at $500,000. As of Friday, August 19, no new details concerning the case had been disclosed. In Texas, a conviction for first-degree murder carries a potential term of five to 99 years behind bars. Additionally, the court system has the option of imposing a $10,000 maximum penalty.

In another recent case, a 49-year-old lady in Missouri is charged with shooting her spouse in the rear end of his head when he was sleeping in bed. Dawn Rene Wynn is now wanted by the Benton County Sheriff's Office on suspicion of killing her spouse. She is currently being tried for second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Wynn, who has now gone missing, is reportedly on her way to northern Oklahoma but has connections in southwest Missouri, according to officials. She shot her husband Harold Lee Wynn, 51, in November of the previous year. The 0.40-caliber semi-automatic handgun, according to deputies, was found between Dawn Wynn's husband's head and the pillow she claimed to be resting on. They also mentioned that the handgun had a fresh bullet in its barrel.

Wynn was freed on a $100,000 bail, according to McDonald County judicial documents. According to the court documents, she entered a non-guilty plea on June 16, 2022, and her pre-trial hearing was set for September 15, 2022. On August 14, Wynn's release was canceled, and an arrest warrant was obtained.
