Spoilers for 'Doom Patrol' Episode 10 'Amends Patrol'

The final episode of 'Doom Patrol' Season 3 is upon us and we just want more. The HBO MAX show is based on the DC superheroes who despite being rejected by society strive to maintain and protect the world. After being experimented on they ended up with superpowers but at the cost of getting disfigured and scarred.

Season 3 like the previous seasons did not disappoint as the introduction of new characters and villainous forces made for a wild watch. It was also quite the emotional rollercoaster as well, what with the whole gang suffering silently in different ways. The Sisterhood of Dada and Madam Rouge were super interesting and amusing as well. Read on to know how the third season culminated and what we thought of it.

The finale of 'Doom Patrol' began on a note of confusion as we see the gang who were on their way to rescue Cliff (Brandan Fraser) from the Brain end up with their bus crashing. Crestfallen, the group which has lost its powers leaves a frustrated Rita (April Bowlby) who's annoyed at their lack of confidence to go ahead alone. The Fog (Wynn Everett) shows up and helps Vic (Joivan Wade), Jane (Diane Guerrero), and Larry( Matt Bomer) back to the Doom Manor. We end up seeing Larry combine with his parasite while Jane makes a deal with Dr. Harrison (Catherine Carlen) to help Kay (Skye Roberts) in the Underground in exchange for becoming the primary. Laura (Michelle Gomez), now full of regret, escapes with Cliff in a giant new robot body with Rita finishing off the Brain.

Episode 10 saw Rita take on the role of a leader but to no avail as the group didn't have confidence in itself. Laura DeMille was a hoot and a half with her continual swearing and cheeky dialogues. Michelle Gomez who plays her is an absolute pleasure to watch and we can't think of anyone better to portray her. On the powers front, we see Larry who had lost his powers display some after merging with Keeg (the parasite) which is setting up a new future for him. Vic's character development has been brilliant this season as he finally accepts himself as he is. Rita, after her tryst with darkness, now exudes more confidence and control. The episode ends with the Doom Patrol well and together with Laura joining them as well under the watchful eye of Rita.

A still from 'Doom Patrol' (HBO MAX)

We were expecting the finale to end on a darker note but loved that, that was not the case as we see the gang embrace the hero tag and shift into their new roles to use their powers for good. Rita's new role as the leader looks very fun and we can look forward to seeing this character bloom further. The episode did a good job of wrapping up major character storylines but left us with one cliffhanger. Jane who lost consciousness is asked by Dr Harrson to make good on their deal towards the end of the show. Unlike Season 2 fans can rest easy with the assurance that the Doom Patrol aside from Jane is doing well and will be returning.

'Doom Patrol' Season 3 is available for streaming on HBO MAX.
