In light of multiple women coming forward to accuse New York Governor Andrew Cuomo of allegedly sexually harassing them at work and him facing criticism over the conditions of nursing homes during the pandemic and coronavirus death toll count discrepancies in his state, Donald Trump Jr took to Twitter to call on publishing house Crown to cancel Cuomo's book 'American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic' which came out in October last year.

“With everything that is coming to light, when will @CrownPublishing be cancelling @andrewcuomo’s contract?” Trump Jr tweeted along with a screenshot of a press release that stated: “Crown to Publish NY Governor Andrew Cuomo’s AMERICAN CRISIS: Leadership Lessons From the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

According to the description of the book, which is hailed as a New York Times bestseller, "Governor Andrew Cuomo tells the riveting story of how he took charge in the fight against Covid-19 as New York became the epicenter of the pandemic, offering hard-won lessons in leadership and his vision for the path forward." The tweet from Trump Jr comes after Simon & Schuster canceled the book contract of Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) following the events that unfolded on January 6.

Cuomo mocked

A number of Trump Jr fans stood up in support of the president's older son as they started mocking Cuomo. "Hands on leadership," one of them said while another noted, "No way. They will have him add chapters on his redemption & finding GOD." A user commented, "Cancel Cuomo! Or be canceled." One more remarked, "Did you guys do to Cuomo like you did to Cruz's dad in the enquired?"

The next added, "Better yet - when will @amazon remove it from their store?" Another noted, "Cruz and Cuomo should go to Cancun for good." A commenter tweeted, "But will he still get to keep his Emmy?"

However, there were those who criticized Trump Jr for advocating Cuomo to be targetted by the "cancel culture" when the former had denounced the same. "I thought we were against Cancel Culture?" one pointed out while the next said, "Now you embrace cancel culture." Another reacted with, "Cancel culture, Jr?" and one more said, "Cancel culture, huh?"

Clarifying his stance on "cancel culture" in a statement to Daily Wire, Trump Jr. said, “Cancel culture is awful, but all I’m saying is that the rules should be applied equally. Simon & Schuster cancelled their contract with Josh Hawley, but Crown is going to stick by a credibly accused serial sexual harasser just because he’s a Democrat? What kind of message does that send? What are the rules? That’s all I’m asking.”

Cuomo receives negative reviews for his book

The book has received a number of negatives reviews on Google after multiple scandals surrounding Cuomo were unveiled. "Complete farce in the light of his current controversy. His poor decisions cost the lives of over a thousand needless nursing home deaths. If he was so busy taking charge of the pandemic, how did he have time to write this book. He's a complete sham," one reviewer wrote.

The reviewer added, "Whoever wrote the blurb and stated 'Real leadership, he shows, requires clear communication, compassion for others, and a commitment to truth-telling—no matter how frightening the facts may be' needs to go ahead and retire. This book is nothing but lies and a self-serving means to generate praise for something he legitimately botched from the beginning. Andrew Cuomo is a fraud and this book belongs in trash."

Another said, "Leadership lessons from someone who utterly destroyed the best city in the world while seizing complete power!!!" A third wrote, "Andrew Cuomo is a socialist who is getting rich while the people in his state suffer. He has been a parasite in the COVID pandemic and no one should buy for a second what cuomo sells."

One more remarked, "I find it laughable that Cuomo had time to write a book. It's amazing how arrogant this governor is. What about sending covid patients into nursing homes? Totally absurd."
