Donald Trump tells Geraldo Rivera he will do the 'right thing', Internet says 'right thing to do is concede'
President Donald Trump told TV host Geraldo Rivera that he will "do the right thing" post losing the election as his Arizona voter fraud lawsuit and "voter fraud" hotline have been stopped.
On Friday, November 13, Rivera revealed that he had spoken to Trump who has not yet conceded to his Democratic rival Joe Biden during the 2020 elections in a "heartfelt call". Joe Biden was named President-elect and gave a victory speech on November 7.
Rivera took to Twitter to share, "Just had heartfelt phone call w friend @realDonaldTrump who said he's a ‘realist’ who'll do the ‘right thing'. But he wants to see ‘what states do in terms of certifiction (sic) (etc)’ He sounded committed to fighting for every vote & if he loses, talking more about all he's accomplished."

Biden had been projected to win the presidential race last week on Saturday after the state of Pennsylvania's 20 Electoral College votes were called. The 20 votes had ended up securing Biden the presidency putting Trump back in both the Electoral College that is needed to win as well as in the popular vote.
Many social media users slammed Rivera for his comments. One such user had shared, "Geraldo, your 'friend' is compromising our country's security by not allowing Biden to have access to daily briefings. Your 'friend' is not in any way doing the right thing for our country. He is doing (as he has always done) only what is right for his ego."
Another added, "Donald Trump's legacy will be defined by the pandemic and his complete and total failure to execute a national strategy to protect Americans. Even now as the country experiences the worst surge yet, he is missing action, hiding in the White House sulking over his loss."
"The right thing would have been to concede days ago. Before certification like in past. Lawsuits going nowhere, no fraud presented. Just blustery words with no basis in facts. The right thing to do would be to concede and then focus on Covid to save Americans. It’s rampant," yet another user shared.

Trump and his team have filed many lawsuits claiming voter fraud and saying that fraud had prevented him from winning his re-election. On Friday, November 13, his lawyers dropped their lawsuit in Arizona that sought a recount for all ballots cast on Election Day.
We had earlier reported that Trump had also accused Fox News and other media networks of "tampering with the election" as the polls were "so inaccurate". The POTUS took to Twitter on Monday, November 9, night and shared a series of tweets where he blamed the media for his election defeat and accused many news outlets of "election interference" as their polls were "so far off" in many states in the US.
He had even singled out Fox News specifically, which has in the past, been his favorite. Trump's messages came after Fox News and many other conservative outlets, owned by Rupert Murdoch, changed their stance about the president after the election, earning the Tump's wrath.
