As the case of 22-year-old Gabby Petito intensifies, people across the country, including influential ones, are also expressing their points of view. Chris Cuomo also did that same by devoting 22 minutes of his show ‘Cuomo Prime Time’ to the complicated case. But Don Winslow did not seem happy with his decision.

The bestselling author slammed him by writing on Twitter, “Dear @CuomoPrimeTime You just spent the entire first 22 minutes of your show tonight on the #GabbyPetito case. 22 uninterrupted minutes. When will @CuomoPrimeTime devote the same opening 22 minutes of your show to a missing WOMAN/CHILD OF COLOR????? Let us all know.”

Gabby went missing while on a cross-country trip with her boyfriend Brian Laundrie. The pair began their trip in July, but on September 1, her 23-year-old boyfriend returned to his North Port, Florida, home alone. After he came back home, he did not tell anyone about Gabby's whereabouts. Also, when Gabby’s family reported her missing on September 11, he did not talk to the investigators. However, a day before he was declared a person of interest in the case, Brian went missing. He was last seen on the morning of September 14 as he left for hiking.

But tragedy struck Gabby’s family when her body was found in a national park in Wyoming on September 19. The official identification of the remains was done on September 21 and her death was ruled as a homicide. The FBI said in a statement, “Teton County Coroner Dr Brent Blue confirmed the remains are those of Gabrielle Venora Petito, date of birth March 19, 1999. Coroner Blue’s initial determination for the manner of death is homicide. The cause of death remains pending final autopsy results.”

Meanwhile, with Winslow’s take on Cuomo’s stand, the internet did not seem fine as a critic suggested, “Don, maybe you should calm down. You have a huge platform as well. You have only jumped on this bandwagon in the last few days.” The second one sarcastically asked, “So every time CNN devotes 20 minutes to a missing white person, they're supposed to balance it up with 20 minutes dedicated to a missing (eg) black person on the next show?” The third critic wrote, “Instead of pointing fingers, why don't we ALL do better and help find all these women/men/children? Let's work to bring attention to every case and not just whine about who's getting media coverage and who isn't. We are all to blame for not helping our communities.”

A user advised by tagging Winslow, “Deidre Reid from Pageland, SC, has been missing since 09/03 & her family is desperate to find her. If you want to use resources to find missing black women, please help spread this word. Can you two start by retweeting? @donwinslow @rolandsmartin.” Another one tweeted, “Why don't you devote every tweet you put out from now on to only missing people. Be apart of the problem you want fixed.” “Do yall have anyone in mind or just random .  He covered George Floyd and other black people abuse.... You need to hold up and quit acting like people shouldn't be talking about the girl cause she white... Dude... come on.  What do you have to say about Don Lemon .. tell him that,” a tweet added.
