The woman who shot the video can be heard giggling as the persistent dog continued his efforts, despite his failure, beneath the large statue of a man sitting with his arms crossed. Many Twitter users expressed their support for the persistant puppy. One user said, "Omg thats the cutest thing I've seen on twitter today" while another commented, "Come on, just throw the damn stick!"

One Twitter user shared a personal story, "This reminds me of my dog. Once I acted as statue & he was so shocked. He kept staring at me, was sniffing me if I'm alive or not unlike this dog. When I slightly moved, he was so happy that I'm alive." Another user commented about the lifeless statue saying, "Dude sat there with his arms crossed not having it."

One twitter user wondered, "Maybe that statue at night time or when no one is filming does throw that stick. The dog isn't goofy. There's definitely more to this." Another said, "Can't wait for a WhatsApp forward or a LinkedIn post using this video saying 'Loyal Dog still tries to play with buried owner's statue in his memory.'"
