Duane Chapman, best known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, claims to be right on track in the hunt for Brian Laundrie who is a person of interest in the death of Gabby Petito. The former reality star believes Laundrie has no intentions of self-harm and is thriving, and he might be hiding in the Florida Everglades. Dog does not believe he might have escaped to Mexico or Costa Rica, as opposed to what's been reported about his location in the media.

Chapman recently shared a video on his Instagram which saw him immersed in swampy waters where he along with several others was seen heading into the thick bush and floating vegetation. Many slammed him for this "gimmick" and urged him to search the Appalachian trail, a region which Laundrie is familiar with and he's been sighted there multiple times in the recent past. On September 25, Laundrie's mother called the cops on Chapman who has been on the frontlines for finding her missing son, claiming he was banging on her front door. When initially joining the hunt for Laundrie, Chapman had said, "He's [Laundrie] not an experienced runner or criminal. Suicide is a very likely possibility," which contradicts his recent statement.

"Brian Laundrie is comfortable in the marshland"

Speaking to TMZ, Chapman said, "I would assume he is alive. Not doing well. But he's alive. There's no evidence of him being suicidal like that anywhere, and he didn't say that to anyone. And if you go to his Instagram pages and look at what kind of person he really is - and the books that he reads, and especially his very favorite book - that's not books for suicidal people." Explaining why he believes Laundrie is hiding in the Florida Everglades, Chapman said, "He's a survivalist, he's been on the Appalachian mountains for two months at a time by himself. Is he there right now? I'm not sure. Was he here a few days ago? Absolutely."

In the same chat, Chapman said he might have received some help from a family member and he might have taken off somewhere else. "But he could have got out during the night, and he would have to have help, I guess it might be from close to a family member and, you know, he's taken off somewhere else. I do not believe that he's in Mexico or Brazil. I've been to Mexico and if they know you're wanted and you're a Caucasian American, they're gonna turn you in for the reward."
