An ITV documentary has claimed that Prince Andrew would “shout and scream” if the maids messed up his collection of toy bears on his bed. Former royal cop Paul Page told presenter Ranvir Singh that he had access to Prince Andrew’s private apartment. He claimed that Andrew had several toys piled up on his bed.

“It had about 50 or 60 stuffed toys positioned on the bed and basically there was a card the inspector showed us in a drawer and it was a picture of these bears all in situ," Page said. “The reason for the laminated picture was if those bears weren’t put back in the right order by the maids, he would shout and scream.” Besides Page, writer Elizabeth Day was introduced to Andrew's collection of teddy bears in 2019. “It seemed rather strange that a grown man should be so amused by a stuffed toy," she said.

Page also revealed in the documentary that he suspected that Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell were lovers because she visited and left Buckingham Palace “at will”. The former bodyguard claimed in an ITV program that the ex-socialite even visited as many as four times a day. The pair has never been known as lovers, but as close friends.

“From the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace at will, we suspected that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew," he told ITV’s Singh. “She kept coming in and out, in and out.” In a previous interview, Prince Andrew had claimed that he met American pedophile Jeffrey Epstein through his “girlfriend” Maxwell. He had said that he knew her “since she was at university in the UK”.

In one of the latest developments in Andrew's sex assault lawsuit, a settlement signed by accuser Virginia Giuffre has been unsealed, and the Duke hopes this will lead to the dismissal of her sex assault lawsuit against him. As per the settlement signed by Giuffre, 38, in 2009, she agreed to be paid $500,000 by Jeffrey Epstein to resolve the sex abuse case against him. Andrew's lawyers believe that the agreement could ensure that Giuffre is not able to continue the lawsuit filed in 2020.

Giuffre had claimed that she was "required to be sexually exploited by (Epstein's) adult male peers, including royalty, politicians, academicians, businessmen, and/or other professional and personal acquaintances." Referring to these allegations, the Duke's lawyer Andrew Brettler said that he did qualify as somebody covered in the statement as he was identified as 'royalty' in her complaint against Epstein. Giuffre said she slept with Andrew three times in 2001 when she was under the control of Epstein and only 17 years of age. The prince has maintained that the allegations are false.
