BBC slammed for picking Alan Dershowitz as 'expert' to analyze Ghislaine Maxwell verdict
After Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of recruiting and grooming underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein, BBC News brought in Alan Dershowit to analyze the proceedings. Alan, introduced only as a 'constitutional lawyer' by BBC, is one of the men Espstein and Maxwell's victim Virginia Giuffre was allegedly forced to have sex with repeatedly when she was underage, the accuser claimed. Alan has denied the allegations. Giuffre had also claimed that Prince Andrew sexually assaulted her.
Giuffre made against Alan as part of her ongoing civil defamation lawsuit. Alan seemed to make use of the opportunity to defend his defamation countersuit. “I think the most important thing particularly for British viewers is that the government was very careful who it used as witnesses,” Alan said. “It did not use as a witness the woman who accused Prince Andrew, accused me, accused many other people because the government didn’t believe she was telling the truth.”

“In fact she, Virginia Giuffre, was mentioned in the trial as somebody who brought young people to Epstein for him to abuse and so this case does nothing at all to strengthen in any way the case against Prince Andrew,” Alan continued. “Indeed it weakens the case against Prince Andrew considerably because the government was very selective in who it used.”
Outraged at BBC's decision to invite Alan Dershowit, social media users expressed their anger on Twitter. "So @BBCNews has decided that the expert witness they need on the Maxwell trial is Alan Dershowitz. Who has taken the opportunity to say that it shows how accusations against him and Prince Andrew are wrong," one user wrote. "BBC brings on Alan, "I Kept My Underpants On", Dershowitz,... of all people,... to analyze Ghislaine Maxwell guilty verdict," another commented.

"Sorry, what?! @BBCNews now have Alan Dershowitz on to analyse #GhislaineMaxwell’s conviction, without any reference to his background;he’s simply introduced as “constitutional lawyer” as if he’s a neutral expert. Shocked. Utterly bizarre decision & does the audience a disservice," one user wrote, while another said, "Alan Dershowitz has been implicated in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal so it makes sense to have him on TV to comment on the Jeffrey Epstein‘s accomplices trial. WHAT?". One user said, "BBC had Alan Dershowitz, the Dersh, on their program defending #Ghislaine. The dude that helped get Epstein a plea deal. The dude that criticized age of consent laws. You cannot make this s*** up".
