The Disney+ 'Better Nate Than Ever' is about thirteen-year-old Nate Foster who dreams of performing on Broadway. The only problem is that he can't even get a role in a school play. When Nate's parents leave town, he and his best friend Libby run away to New York City for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to prove everyone wrong.

Things startle Nate initially but the good news is that he makes it to the final round of auditions for 'Lilo and Stitch' on Broadway. After spending the night with his aunt Heidi, he plans to go to the audition the next morning and then leave New York quickly. However, things don't always go as planned. Nate's brother Anthony hears a viral TikTok of Nate singing at Times Square and seeks out Libby for explanations.

The next thing we see is Anthony and Libby yelling for Nate at Heidi's door. Nate begs Anthony to let him go for the final audition, but Anthony, being a jerk elder brother, refuses and the whole thing ends with Nate jumping out of the window to reach his dreams. Nate arrives at the audition venue. Meanwhile, Heidi, Anthony, and Libby are among the members of the squad on a hunt for Nate. So here's the twist: Nate's best friend Libby already knows that Nate is at the Amsterdam theatre, but she continues to act as if she doesn't know, which Anthony soon discovers, and the three of them arrive at the audition venue.

When they arrive at the theatre, Nate's second round of singing had just begun. Nate is nervous for the first time in his life, having already blown his first shot due to overconfidence and eagerness. As Nate begins his performance, it is evident that he is apprehensive and not having a good time. But then, out of nowhere, Anthony declares in front of everyone, "I'm not embarrassed by you," giving Nate all the confidence he needed. And he begins singing in his best voice. During the performance, he even uses Heidi's advice of throwing the sheet paper into the air to enhance his performance. The performance is spectacular and Nate finally finds his light.

Libby receives a message from her mother asking why she is not at home.  They all get ready to go back home right away. However, Nate and Heidi have formed a beautiful bond, and she gives him a present. They have an emotional heart-to-heart conversation during which, Nate tells Heidi that she is his hero. Somehow, Heidi inspired Nate to choose his dream before coming to New York, and once Nate was in New York with her, he inspired Heidi to never give up on her dreams and family.

The movie doesn't end there; Nate returns to school, but he still hadn't received a call from the director. Suddenly, he was summoned to the principal's office where his parents are also present and he is asked, "Did you make a trip to New York in their absence?" Nate begins to give various explanations without listening to them until they finally announced that Nate had been cast as Stitch in Mudicsll's broadway production of 'Lilo and Stitch'. Finally, everyone rejoices and Nate gets his happy ending. It shows that if you work hard and believe in yourself, you will achieve it.
