Diplo refused entry at Cannes party, fans say ‘they’ve obviously never listened to your music’
One of the top DJs in the world, Diplo recently faced an awkward moment after he was stopped at the gate by the security in Cannes. The renowned musician, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, was hired to DJ at a yacht party but looks like the security at the gate was difficult to convince.
Diplo, however, took it in a good stride as he shared his ordeal on his Twitter and Instagram accounts respectively with a sense of humor. The 43-year-old DJ, who is known for his hits like ‘Lean On’, ‘Where Are U Now’, ‘Revolution’, and others, was finally allowed as the owner of the yacht was passing by and he finally let him in after taking control of the situation at the Cannes party.

Diplo, who looked dapper in his new blue hairstyle, shared on Instagram what he had to go through with the help of a captioned video. “I was booked to DJ a yacht party in Cannes but security wouldn't let me in”, shared the DJ adding, “The yacht was empty so I was about to take the L and go get food.”
In the video, Diplo can be seen interacting with the security at the Cannes as a woman from the event is seen trying to help the musician explaining who exactly he is. The video pans across to the yacht as Diplo adds, “It's still empty” concluding, “Luckily the owner was walking by and let me in.” While sharing the video, Diplo captioned the post as, “Next time I’m adding myself to guest list.” On the work front, Diplo was nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic music album.

Social media users quickly logged into Twitter to poke fun at Diplo. “Not everyone knows about Diplo and ofcourse DJ is not in the guestlist. bad management”, said one user as another mentioned, “Amazing that this stuff still happens to you” adding a laughing emoticon in the end. The next one shared, “Lmao!! They’ve obviously never listened to your music.” One user added, “Yo. this is relatable af. and it's the exact emotional response we all have to it everytime (whether we show it externally or nah).” Meanwhile, an individual tweeted, “If you get blocked at the entry of your party I guess we all can get blocked”, as another concluded, “I wouldn’t DJ after all this. Or double the price.”
