Did Jay Patterson betray everyone? 'The Trust: A Game of Greed' contestant grabs lucrative offer and exits Netflix show
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, CARIBBEAN: Jay Patterson has decided to leave the show 'The Trust: A Game of Greed' after receiving a great offer.
During Episode 6 of Season 1 of the Netflix show, the host Brooke Baldwin played a chip game with all the contestants.
By the end of the game, Brian Firebaugh had the most number of chips and they managed to put an additional $25,000 into the Trust.
Then, Brooke Baldwin asked Jay to join her in the Vault, since she received the fewest chips.
After reaching the Vault, Jay gets an offer to take $25,000 from the Trust but her time in the house will come to an end.
Jay decides to take the offer and leave the Netflix show.
She tells Baldwin, "Just give me that $25,000 and I'm out of here."
Who were Jay Patterson's friends in 'The Trust: A Game of Greed'?
When asked about her friends in the house, Patterson reveals that she feels betrayed by Lindsey Anderson.
Jay says, "Somebody who I thought we were gonna be buddies and doing cool shit together, I was so played. I'm in shock. Something happened. I went, 'Oh my God'."
Patterson adds, "Lindsey. She's with the guys! Totally played me and I was just going, 'Oh my God, I can't believe it.'"
She continues, "I love this offer. I'm so glad I don't have to kick anybody off. I want that $25,000, and I'm ready to go home."
In a confessional, Jay says, "They just were told they had $25,000 put in the Trust and I just took it back out."
The 70-year-old adds, "My two true friends were Winnie and Tolú. They were the only two that, at the end, had my back, and I had their back."
Jay concludes, "I just want to say, I love you, Winnie and Tolú. I love you so much. I hope good things happen. And to Lindsey, well played."
Jay Patterson was worried about getting evicted from 'The Trust: A Game of Greed'
In the fourth episode of the show, Jay Patterson expressed her fear of being eliminated from the competition to another contestant named Bryce Lee.
She mentioned feeling nervous and unsure about her place in the show, hoping that everyone would stay united. She mentioned that she didn't know why, but everyone might have the thing they are referring to.
Bryce said that he believed people saw Jay as an independent woman who doesn't require protection.
However, he acknowledged that there is a strong emotional connection with her, and people may not be considering her in the context of needing protection. Jay responded by saying "Okay", while Bryce mentioned that he appreciates how everyone in the group takes ownership of their words.
Jay then added she also agrees with this mindset, although she still has a small amount of doubt.
'The Trust: A Game of Greed' Season 1 Episode 8 will be available to watch on the streaming giant Netflix on January 24, 2024.
