BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: A man who was caught on surveillance cameras using Nathan Millard's debit card has been arrested, police announced on Tuesday, March 14. Derrick Perkins was sought by Lousina police for questioning.

Once Millard's missing case gained national attention, Perkins allegedly 'disguised his car' to avoid getting caught. However, he was taken into custody on separate allegations, including violating his probation and accusations of criminal property damage, three counts of access device fraud, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

'Car Perkins was seen driving had been found burned'

Hours after announcing his arrest, a Baton Rouge Police Department spokesperson confirmed that the car Perkins was seen driving had been found burned on Monday, March 13, according to a WBRZ report. An arrest warrant obtained by WBRZ states that Perkins had been driving a 2004 Toyota Camry that was reported stolen on February 3 from the East Buchanan Street.

Police claim that Perkins attempted to "disguise" the vehicle around the time Nathan Millard's abduction "gained national attention" in late February or early March by spray-painting the car's bumper, removing a rear bumper sticker, and switching the license plate.

Perkins was captured on camera using Millard's debit card

A few days after Nathan Millard vanished, according to arrest filings, Perkins was captured by security cameras using Millard's debit card at two distinct locations on Highland Road in the old South Baton Rouge neighborhood. His home address is less than a mile from the lot off Scenic Highway where Millard’s body was discovered on Monday, March 6.

Police have stated that there is no sign of foul play in Millard's death, but they are still looking for the person who moved Millard's body after he died. As per a report, there was no evidence of internal or external trauma after his death.

Millard, a Georgia father-of-five, went missing while traveling to Louisiana for work on February 22 . After failing to appear at the work site the following morning, he was declared missing. A day before he went missing, he was seen leaving Happy’s Irish pub at around 11.30 pm, but he didn't return to the hotel he stayed at which was just a few blocks away. His wallet was discovered without a credit card near the hotel. His body was found rolled in a plastic sheet. Last week, a video of Millard walking with a mystery man along Florida Boulevard shortly before he vanished emerged.

Police are still looking into how Millard's body ended up being dumped, even though there is no indication of any foul play. The official cause of Millard's death will only be revealed after a thorough autopsy, said police.
