Delphi murders: Liberty German's grieving sister posts throwback photo on 14-year-old's death anniversary
DELPHI, INDIANA: Liberty German, also known as Libby, was found dead on February 14, 2017, and her loved ones are remembering her. Kelsi German, sister of Libby, posted photos of their walks in memory of her on her social media.
The grieving 22-year-old Kelsi wrote, "We take this walk every year, this year felt different but I miss you the same." Libby, 14, and her best friend, Abigail Williams, also known as Abby, 13, were last seen on Indiana's Monon High Bridge Trail, Delphi, on February 14, 2017. Kelsi shared a series of images from that location on Monday, February 13. One image showed a glimpse of a river that was slightly lightened by the sun, while another showed a trail bridge that looked old and brittle with the surrounding trees entirely shed.

How far has the Delphi Murder case progressed?
The transition Kelsi described in her post for this year came after the 50-year-old suspect Richard Allen was arrested in October 2022, nearing the end of a long cold case for investigators. On February 14, 2017, Libby and Abby's bodies were found in Delphi, Indiana, next to a closed down railroad. The deaths of the eighth graders went unsolved for years since there were no leads or suspects.
Allen is being held without bond by the Indiana Department of Correction. The date of Allen's bail hearing, where future trial dates will also be discussed, is set for February 17. Nicholas McLeland, the prosecutor for Carroll County, believes there may be additional suspects in the 2017 murders. In court on November 2022, McLeland stated, "We have good reason to believe that Allen was not alone. That there could be other actors," reported The Sun.
