The multiple attempts teach Jason and Amanda Lucas (Alice Braga) that they need to control their thoughts and their subconscious mind to enter the world they desire.

During their journey, they encounter Blair Caplan (Amanda Brugel), a lead engineer from Reality 2 who vanished months earlier.

Despite finding herself trapped in a world where human life is on the verge of extinction, she refuses to return to the box again.

However, she shares her experience and learnings of the box, which help Jason and Amanda to align their thoughts, fears, and desires.

Jason and Amanda make another attempt and finally step into a world that seems closer to Jason's reality, only to later face disappointment as he explores it.

With each attempt, they draw nearer to home yet it's still a long way before Jason finally reunites with Daniela (Jennifer Connelly) and Charlie (Oakes Fegley).

In the final moments of 'Dark Matter' Episode 5, we see Jason 2 returning to his reality to grab the magical drugs. However, his entry is noticed by an alert employee, who shares how Jason, Amanda, and Leighton escaped this reality after a violent encounter.

As Jason 2 returns to Reality 1, he tells Leighton Vance (Dayo Okeniyi) that he will seal up the box soon.

Jason 2, is determined to prevent Jason from ever returning to this reality, and therefore, he will make every possible move to stop him.

Sealing up the box would mean that Jason won't be able to open the door to this world and he will have to spend his life in any other reality which isn’t his.

Excitement and thrill await in Episode 6 as Jason's fate remains uncertain.

'Dark Matter' is available to stream on Apple TV+.
