Blake Crouch's series had our attention with its first episode where Jason Dessen's (Joel Edgerton) life turns upside down after he is abducted by his own self from an alternate reality.
Setting stage for a mind-bending thrill, the following episodes have been showcasing Jason's constant and desperate attempts to return to his original reality where Jason 2 has replaced him.
In the four episodes released so far, Jason hasn't been able to figure out a way to reunite with his wife and son.
Meanwhile, Jason 2 has been making life-changing decisions in Jason's life.
When will 'Dark Matter' Episode 5 release?
Anticipation for the next episode is high as fans can't wait to see Jason's adventures in the liminal space.
Instead of dropping all the episodes simultaneously like Netflix and Prime Video, Apple TV+ usually follows the conventional release pattern.
Dropping one episode per week, the OTT giant keeps the fans hooked to their engaging content for weeks.
As 'Dark Matter' too follows the weekly release pattern, fans may expect 'Dark Matter' Episode 5 to drop next Wednesday, on May 29, 2024.
Titled ‘Wordless’, the episode will have a run time of 55 minutes. It will air exclusively on Apple TV+.
What happens in 'Dark Matter' Episode 4?
After Jason Dessen and Amanda Lucas (Alice Braga) escape from Reality 2 in 'Dark Matter' Episode 3, they are seen trapped in liminal space in Episode 4.
We see them struggling to find the right reality amid endless doors that open to random realities.
Along the way, Jason realizes that the realities are not random. Instead, they are the reflection of their emotional state the moment they open the door.
Meanwhile, in Reality 1, though Jason 2 is happy to be with Daniela Dessen (Jennifer Connelly), he continues to prioritize his ambition.
He quits his job as a professor and meets Leighton Vance (Dayo Okeniyi). Jason 2 confesses his real identity and gives Leighton a tour of alternate reality.
The episode ends with a glimpse of Leighton 2 who struggles to escape the liminal space after he runs away from his reality.
What to expect in 'Dark Matter' Episode 5?
After Jessen and Amanda discover that it’s their mind that controls the box, they will attempt to open a door to Jason's original reality. However, the clock is ticking as they only have limited drugs available to transport them.
On the other hand, Jason 2 will start working with Leighton Vance, thus thinning the lines between both realities.
We also hope to learn the eventual fate of Leighton 2 who is trapped in superposition and has no one to guide him.
The official synopsis for 'Dark Matter' Episode 5 reads, "As they learn more about the box, Jason and Amanda see alternate versions of their lives. Jason 2 begins training a potential investor."
