Dallas Cowboys rookie Sam Williams hospitalized after horrific car crash in Texas
PLANO, TEXAS: Dallas Cowboys rookie Sam Williams was hospitalized after a horrific car crash on Thursday, December 22. According to police, the collision happened at around 2.15 pm in Plano, Texas, when Williams' black sports car hit another vehicle that tried to turn in front of oncoming traffic. Williams' vehicle was hit so hard that it lost its entire front wheel, as seen in a video FOX 4 obtained shortly after the collision. The fenders on the front and back driver's side were also severely damaged.
Williams, though, escaped the collision with minor injuries. He and the other car's driver were sent to the hospital, according to the police, but only "as a precaution." Williams tweeted on Thursday night that he was 'okay' and that the other individual involved was also well. “I’m okay everyone so is the other person involved,” Williams posted from his official Twitter handle. His fans, who were praying for his life after the news broke, were relieved by the announcement. One person tweeted, “Glad to hear that! Sorry that happened, happy to hear both parties are okay.”

Meanwhile, the road was partially shut down for about two hours. Police claim they are still looking into the collision but have no reason to believe drugs or alcohol were used. Although Williams had the right of way, investigators are looking into whether his speed played a role in the incident. Williams was seen by the Cowboys' medical staff, and he will be examined once again on Friday, December 23. The Cowboys said on their official website that they are hopeful Williams will be game-ready for their Saturday, December 24, clash against the Philadelphia Eagles.
