DAYCARE FIGHT CLUB: Mom left in shock after 19-month-old daughter left with scratches and bites in attack
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Cymande Ford, a mother from Louisiana, is demanding wants after her 19-month-old daughter Harley Ford was attacked at the Angel’s Haven Daycare on February 9, 2023. The mother wants to know what exactly happened at the daycare that left her child with several bite marks on her arms and legs.
After getting a call from the director of the daycare asking the mother to come to the school, Cymande headed to the daycare and found her daughter covered with scratches. “To relive it is just a horror. I see [Harley’s] face, and it looks like she’s been mauled by a cat, so I start screaming, I’m crying, I dropped my purse, and I ask what happened,” the mother explained, as stated by ABC. She added, “I took Harley, and I’m just asking [the school’s director] what happened.” Cymande said she was informed that Harley was involved in a “tussle” with a one-year-old at the school.

'Seven bites up one arm'
Narrating the details, Cymande told that she found “seven bites up one arm". She further described, "She [Harley] has a couple bites up the other arm, she has pants on, but [the 1-year-old] has bitten through her pants on both legs. You can see the teeth marks; they’re clear and visible.” Following the discovery, she rushed her daughter to a hospital where the nurse started to ask questions to find out what happened. “So, [the nurse] says, ‘What time did this happen?’ I say ‘11 o’clock’ because that’s the time they called me,” the mother recollected. But her daughter said, "Oh no, it happened a little bit before 8 [am]."
Investigation underway
Cymande said she wasn’t given an explanation as to why it took the school authorities so long to call her. And when one of the outlets tried reaching out to the director to know their side of the story, the director said "no" and hung up the call. Cymande, who runs her own business, has now filed a report with New Orleans Police Department's Department of Children and Family Services which is now investigating the matter.
The mother expressed, "It was hard enough for me to send my child to daycare because I’m a business owner, and this is just crazy for this to be happening on her third day after something that I already fought myself with so much."
