Club Ice: Crowded Vegas strip club shuts down audition fearing Astroworld-like tragedy
A fire marshal reportedly halted a dancer audition for a soon-to-open Las Vegas strip club after a huge crowd showed up to watch the tryouts. During the auditions, one host reminded the crowd of the tragic Astroworld stampede that occurred this month. Tryouts for Club Ice were held at Blume Lounge in Henderson, Nevada on Wednesday, November 17.
The event saw as many as 1,000 women sign up, following which it had to be cut short by the Fire Marshal to avoid a potential Astroworld-like tragedy. A host is heard saying at one point, "This motherf***** too packed, y'all gotta back up. Y'all seen that s**t happen with Travis Scott the other night, y'all better pack up." The strip club had invited people to witness the tryouts at the lounge. "EXOTIC HOOKAHS , FREE PARKING , AND ABSOLUTELY FREE TO WALK IN THE DOOR TO APPLY . WE ARE WELCOMING THE GENERAL PUBLIC AS WELL TO COME & WATCH THE AUDITIONS OF THE DANCERS," club_ice_vegas had posted on Instagram. The page posted videos of women dancing in a fully lit room with people throwing money in the air. A man can be heard yelling into the microphone, "We in motherf**ker Las Vegas, Nevada. We in Detroit. We in motherf**ker Oakland. Uh oh, there goes the money y'all."

At least eight people died and several others injured when chaos broke out at Travis Scott's Astroworld music festival in Houston, Texas, on Friday, November 5. Video footage of the festival is being widely circulated on social media, showing a stampede of fans breaking through a fence. The videos also show people attending the festival dancing on ambulances. Some witnesses have claimed that the rapper stopped his show several times to urge security guards to help the crowd, while some believe that he did not do enough to protect his fans.
Following the tragedy, over a dozen lawsuits have been filed in Harris County against Scott and Live Nation Entertainment. The lawsuits have claimed that Scott kept singing for more than 30 minutes despite numerous deaths, injuries, and fans pleading for the show to be stopped. Over 10,000 people have also signed a petition in an attempt to block Scott from performing as a headliner at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in California next April. Among various people suing Scott and festival organizers is the family of 21-year-old Axel Acosta, who said that he had the “life squeezed out of” him and was then “trampled on like a piece of trash”. At least two criminal investigations are also underway into the tragic stampede.
