SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: Hanna and Haley Cavinder, the 22-year-old twins who got the Miami Hurricanes in Elite Eight in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament for the first time in February 2023 before losing to LSU recently, became a part of WWE's NIL program in December 2021. Haley, at that time, said, “We definitely didn’t grow up wanting to become wrestlers.”

“It just kind of happened. It’s right up our alley because it is entertainment. And that’s what Hanna and I do on the side,” she told Time Magazine. But after being defeated by LSU in a hard-fought game on March 26 by 54-42, the question that arises is - What is the possible future of the Cavinder Twins, who are college basketball players at the University of Miami and famous TikTok influencers with 4.5 million followers on a joint account.

Do they have a future in WWE?

On December 8, 2021, the WWE revealed that the Cavinder twins and 13 other college athletes from schools such as Duke, Alabama, and Portland State, participating in sports ranging from basketball to wrestling to middle-distance running, joined the WWE’s inaugural NIL program, dubbed “Next In Line.” However, the deal was not a mandatory commitment from athletes to join the WWE once their college's athletic careers come to an end. But Time Magazine stated, "the NCAA’s long-awaited loosening of NIL restrictions allows the organization to bring the Cavinder twins, and others, into the fold." And according to DailyMail, as part of the deal, the Cavinder twins have access to the WWE's Performance Center in Florida where they can adapt themselves with acrobatics and other skills that are required to participate as a wrestler. The outlet states that them becoming wrestlers is "an unexpected move but it's also potentially a lucrative one," as in the year 2022, WWE's revenue went up by 10 percent and crossed $1 billion.

Also, just weeks ago during their Instagram Q&A, they were asked when they would give WWE “a try” and a match with the Bella twins. To which, the sisters responded with an eyeball emoji. As per DailyMail, Hanna while talking about Bella twins, Nikki and Brie, on the BFF podcast said, 'We [she and Haley] were at an event in Nashville and it was so fun, and their fanbase is crazy. We could be the next Bella Twins." And added, "We'd have to take classes, fully train and take classes. Fully do it. It's not no joke, at all."

Could Cavinder Twins be the next Bella Twins?

James Kimball, WWE Senior Vice President and Head of Talent Operations and Strategy, believes the Cavinder Twins could be the next Bella Twins. He said, as stated by Wrestle Zone, “Talk about historical precedence. If the Cavinders ended up even close to a career of the Bella twins, I think everyone would be very happy. We’ve talked about it. That’s what we’re trying to identify. Where’s the potential? Where’s the archetype for these types of talent we’re bringing in? The Cavinders have a great opportunity to become something that really differentiates.”
