NAUGATUCK, CONNECTICUT: A Connecticut man is facing charges of child abuse by reportedly making him eat his own feces. According to NBC New York, an arrest warrant was issued for Kevin Grant, 33, of Naugatuck, Connecticut, after authorities learned of new allegations relating to a child abuse case investigated in October 2020.

Naugatuck police stated Grant allegedly punished one of the children by locking him in a closet and reportedly gave the child a box to defecate in it while he was locked inside when the child said he needed to use the bathroom. His four children, between the ages of 5 to 11, allegedly had to witness their siblings' torture, according to the new charging document. The father allegedly told the child's crying siblings "this is what happens when you don't behave" as he made the child eat his own feces.
Grant has been taken into police custody for abusing his stepson constantly for over four months. The young boy had to sleep in a locked laundry room, drink hot sauce until he vomited and hold a bottle rocket in his mouth until it exploded. According to authorities. A Department of Children and Families worker noticed a scar on the victim's face from holding the explosive in his mouth, according to WFSB.
Grant confessed to having locked the boy in the laundry room to a DCF worker. However, he said that he did it to discipline him for being too rough with his siblings. The boy, on the other hand, in a conversation with DCF, said that one of his siblings was playing and had "cracked his head open", but he had to take the blame for it and was punished. Grant allegedly beat the boy up with his belt on returning home that day.
According to the police, Grant was detained on August 10, 2022. He and the boy's mother both made their first court appearance on October 19, 2020. Grant was charged with risk of injury to a child, second-degree assault, intentional cruelty, disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment, while Baptiste was charged with risk of injury to a child, reckless endangerment, conspiracy to commit intentional cruelty and conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct.
Police said that Grant was arrested on a $50,000 bond. "In addition, Kevin is currently awaiting trial for similar allegations from the original investigation from 2020," police added.
