DETROIT, MICHIGAN: The roommate's gender and willingness to "cook and clean" are two incredibly bizarre requirements listed in an advertisement for a room to rent. The advertisement for the Detroit apartment received over 85k likes on Twitter. The post's caption reads, "You have to get sexually harassed AND pay him $400 a month? worst deal ever".

The ad the user posted reads, "Single male (44) searching for roommate, must be female aged 18-25 and single, must be willing to cook and clean, 1 bedroom apartment, you can use the couch until you are comfortable enough to share the bedroom." The ad continued, "No pets, no drinking, no drugs and no male friend allowed, my home has a 'no closed doors' policy (This is for safety), $400 a month, call Owen."

As soon as the advertisement went viral, many users commented on the odd requests. Commentators online were shocked by the man known as Owen and his blatant arrogance in believing that he could demand specific conditions, and one person chose to focus on the reasonable cost of reserving a room. The user commented, "Help me out. I am not local. Is $400 per month too expensive for 44 years old man? Your beer must be $1 per pint. In my neighborhood, you get a broom closet for $400 per month. You people are living the dream."

One user penned, "Where’s this dude from lol. Some queen bee hentai?" Another user questioned, "would any woman take that deal if Owen was paying them $400 a month?" "You pay $400 to be a maid? Yeah no," wrote one user.

Calling the ad fake, one user penned, "Seems fake. The lighting and shadows indicate it's out doors. Yet, the paper is pristine. No dirt or dust on it, no water marks, no sun baking on the paper or the tape... Its as though the paper had been placed there just moments before the photo was taken."

Another user said that few women truly in need may approach, "Sad part is rent is so freaking high in many places that some women may be desperate enough to do this." One user called it fake, "Thats either A) completely fake and set up by the person in photo B) some friends pranking the guy and posting them round town to see the reaction it gets Not even in a messed up dump like America could that be real.
