WASHINGTON, DC: CNN host Kasie Hunt has recently shared her unusual labor experience. She gave birth to a baby girl on the bathroom floor after spending just 13 minutes in labor. The 37-year-old became a mother of two after giving birth to the 8 lbs 4 oz newborn baby on Wednesday, March 1.
She and her husband Matthew Mario Rivera, who already have a three-year-old son named Mars, had been preparing for a C-section, so they were taken aback by the unexpected arrival, reports Daily Mail. The couple, who have since given their daughter the name Grey Hunt Rivera, expressed their unrestrained excitement for living as a "family of four."

'Welcoming herself to the world'
Kasie posted about the birth of newborn Grey on Instagram. She shared a picture of herself holding the baby in her arms as an emergency services team member rushed in while she was seated on the bathroom floor. Other photos from Sibley Hospital in Washington, DC, show Grey meeting her older sibling for the first time as well as Kasie and Matthew, 40, cuddling the newborn. The Tv host posted the pictures with the caption, "WELCOMING HERSELF TO THE WORLD: My husband @mattmrivera & I are thrilled to introduce our daughter, Grey Hunt Rivera - though really, she introduced herself."
'Couldn't be more excited for life as a family of four'
She wrote in her post, "Grey was delivered by dad on the bathroom floor after 13 minutes of labor, before we even had time to dial 911, and 24 hours before she was scheduled to arrive via C-section. We are so thankful for the [DC Fire and EMS] team who talked us through the incredibly intense moments before she took her first breaths, and who arrived within minutes to bring mom and baby safely to the hospital." She concluded, "Big brother Mars could not be more proud, and we couldn't be more excited for life as a family of four." Kasie and Matthew, who met while working for NBC News in Washington, exchanged vows in 2017 at Shenandoah Woods in Stanley, Virginia.
