'Clipped' Episode 3 begins with the sensational release of Donald Sterling's (Ed O'Neill) audio tape where he can be heard making racist remarks against African-Americans. While it creates a havoc among his basketball team, he remains calm and unbothered.

NBA begins investigation in the case that now has the entire nation's attention. During the questioning, Shelly Sterling (Jacki Weaver) claims that her husband was under the influence of alcohol when he made the controversial remarks. She also pins it all on V Stiviano (Cleopatra Coleman) suggesting that she promoted Sterling to say those things.

Doc Rivers (Laurence Fishburne) pressurizes Sterling's PR to put out an apology statement as the players plan to boycott the tournament.

Contrary to Shelly's statement and Doc Rivers' demand, Sterling claims that it isn't his voice in the controversial recording and the tapes must have been tempered.

On Donald's 80th birthday, he and Shelly get into a heated argument due to the ongoing mess.

Meanwhile, Doc Rivers convinces his players to play the match while also respecting their suggestion of making a bold statement against Sterling.

While they agree to play for Sterling owned team, they ditch the official t-shirts that had logo of LA Clippers, indicating that they condemn Sterling's remarks.

V Stiviano (Cleopatra Colealso chooses to remain silent on the controversy but enjoys posing for the paparazzi. She also has a fallout with her sister during the episode.
