Christina Applegate sports swanky cane with DEFIANT message with daughter Sadie Grace for her last award show as actor
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Christina Applegate’s last award show attendance as an actor was a night to remember! The actress, who had stated that the recent Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) will most likely be her “last awards show as an actor,” had attended the event with her young daughter Sadie LeNoble, 13. Applegate had previously stated that this award show appearance for her was “kind of a big deal,” as she plans to step away from acting following her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, which she confirmed in 2021.
For her appearance (her first red carpet since the diagnosis), Applegate wore a stunning suit-esque black gown, with a swanky cane that bore an important message- ‘FU MS’. Her daughter Sadie looked quirky and dapper as well in her black blazer and slim-fit pants, which she paired with a newsboy cap and black boots. Applegate’s exit from acting comes as the actress had admitted to it becoming difficult for her to maintain the active lifestyle required of an actor. “Right now, I couldn’t imagine getting up at 5 am and spending 12 to 14 hours on a set,” she said. “I don’t have that in me at this moment.”

Christina Applegate’s MS diagnosis and ‘Dead To Me’
For her performance as Jen Harding in the Netflix series ‘Dead To Me,’ Applegate bagged her sixth SAG Award nomination. However, this nod did not come easy to the 51-year-old actress, who had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis halfway through filming the show in 2021. Instead of walking away into the sunset and forgetting her commitments, she stood tall and completed the show while under treatment — and her hard work was recognized by the industry in the form of the SAG nod in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category.
What’s next for Christina Applegate?
With her announcing plans to step away from acting, fans have been understandably sad about not being able to see their favorite actor on their screens any more. But worry not, the actress has other plans!
Christina is currently considering a turn into doing voiceovers to keep herself going, according to Page Six. “Doing a s**t ton of voice-overs to make some cash to make sure that my daughter’s fed and we’re homed,” she had said. So fans can breathe a sigh of relief and rejoice — Applegate will most certainly continue to work.
