American snowboarder Chloe Kim became the youngest woman to win an Olympic snowboarding gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. After her win, she made sure the world knew that she saw her parents as the biggest reason behind her success. "They are my number one fans. I always look forward to seeing their faces at the bottom of the pipe, cheering me on," said Chloe, speaking about her parents.

Born in California, Chloe started snowboarding when she was 4 years old and made her Olympics debut at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. For the 21-year-old Olympic gold medalist, her family is her world. "What I want people to know is that your family's going to be your biggest fan. Some of my parents' proudest moments didn't have anything to do with my snowboarding career. They are so proud of who I became as a person and they were so proud when I decided I wanted to go to college. They were just so proud that I wanted to go," she said.

'The Masked Singer': Who is Jellyfish? New clues point to Olympic gold medal-winning snowboarder Chloe Kim

Who are Chloe Kim's parents?

Chloe's mother's name is Boran Yun Kim. Chloe often posts pictures of her mother and considers her mom her best friend. "My mom's amazing, she's my bestie. We do everything together. She was always the person that was a bit behind the scenes. She would stay back, she would take care of my sisters. She would work and she was like the glue that held our family together. She's the most amazing chef in the world, which is why her Miyeok-guk is just unbeatable," Chloe told People.

"When I look, feel and do my personal best, it shows – it's my personal 100! My mom is always helping me achieve my personal 100 even with the smallest pieces of advice like skincare tips," Chloe captioned a picture with her mother.

Chloe's father's name is Jong Jin Kim. During the Olympics, he was seen holding a sign that read "Go Chloe" with a heart on it. Reportedly, he quit his job as an engineer to focus on Chloe’s snowboarding career and training. "I'm the dad of an Olympic gold medalist, not many people have this kind of feeling," Jong Jin told CNN after his daughter's win.

While talking about her father she said, "What I love the most about my dad is that I really appreciate that he did that to us and he kind of made us figure it out. I think that really helped me with my confidence because it made me realize that I got this. I can figure things out, I can do it on my own." A birthday post for her dad read, "Happy Birthday Dad! So lucky to have someone so supportive in my life. Even though he embarrasses me and drives me insane at times, couldn't live without him."

Recently, she collaborated with Procter & Gamble to create a 60-second video dedicated to her parents. She captioned the video, "I honestly can’t express how much my parents mean to me. Thank you @proctergamble for partnering with me to create this video. I’m ready for the Olympic Winter Games knowing my parents were always there for me and always will be, no matter where I go. #therewithme #sponsored"

"I think this film really talks about something that's extremely relatable. Just that really close connection you have with your parents in the beginning, like as a child. As you start growing up, they're always going to be there, they're always going to catch you when you fall. But then there's that moment where you start wanting to be more independent. That's something that I think everyone goes through," she said.

Chloe is going to participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics and will be seeking to defend her gold. Her qualifying round will happen on Tuesday, February 8. If Chloe advances, she will compete in the halfpipe final on Wednesday, February 9.
